My name is Tori. I represent the greatest state in the nation -- Rhode Island -- as well as Massachusetts. I study philosophy with a concentration in ethics and political theory. I'm driven by questions about the nature of justice and a passion for establishing truer equality, especially when it comes to race, class, and education. On campus, I am a Staff Director at the student-run Y2Y Youth Homeless Shelter, and I am co-president of Sexual Health Education and Advocacy Throughout Harvard, aka the notorious Harvard Sex Week. Sexual health has always fascinated me. Its importance is prevalent in our everyday lives, yet legal access to quality sex-ed is is disappointingly unavailable in much of the country. I also sing in the Kuumba Singers which celebrates Black art from the African diaspora and dance in a hip-hop group called Expressions. This summer, I am living in Chicago where I am interning at the Chicago Legal Clinic. Housing and law are two of my most important interests, so I feel extremely grateful to learn about them both. I'm also grateful for all the incredible food Chi-town has to offer. Whether I'm picking up Italian beef, going out for Russian, or emptying out the food trucks in my plaza, I am always amazed at what amazing food this community has to offer. I've also been practicing my own cooking - mostly Italian recipes from my family and inspired by my study abroad last summer in Venice. Without school, I have so much free time on my hands, and making my favorite foods "from scratch" is a relaxing and comforting part of my daily ritual. One last fun fact is I'm a twin! She's the nice one, in case you were wondering. But I'm the fun one, so it all balances out.
