It snowed a lot this March in the Northeast, to the point where my roommates and I began to run out of snow day activities. One snowy Wednesday we decided to find a movie to watch and play a drinking game. However, it was surprisingly hard to find a list with tons of movie drinking games we could play back-to-back. I decided that no one should have to face this snow day dilemma ever again. I consolidated this list of some of the best movie drinking games I could find. Enjoy and safe drinking!
#SpoonTip: Spoon University doesn’t encourage binge drinking or underage drinking. Swap out your booze for a non-alcoholic beverage at any point during these films.
1. The Ultimate Halloweentown Drinking Game
Get ~spooky~ with it by adding alcohol to this iconic Halloween flick. If you want to take this movie drinking game to the next level, play it using one of these Halloween cocktails.
2. The Elf Drinking Game
The best way to spread Christmas cheer is by…. getting drunk? Even if it’s not the holiday season, this is one of those movie drinking games that will get you in the holiday spirit in no time.
3. The Hunger Games Drinking Game
May the odds be ever in your favor with this drinking game. It’s tailored for the final installment in the movie series, but a lot of the criteria applies for any of the films. Bonus points if you eat this lamb stew while playing.
4. The Harry Potter Drinking Game
This game will get you so drunk, you might actually believe you’re a wizard. So, whip out the butterbeer and get to playing.
5. The Christmas Movie Drinking Game
With suggestions like “take a sip if someone struggles to find the perfect gift” this drinking game works for pretty much any Christmas movie. Really get in the holiday mood with one of these Christmas cocktails.
6. The Love Actually Drinking Game
Love actually is all around, especially when you’re drinking with your best pals. This movie drinking game is based off of the classic British rom-com, and will probably get you very, very drunk. The game suggests to eat Christmas cookies while you play and I recommend these easy recipes.
7. The Hocus Pocus Drinking Game
This game isn’t a bunch of hocus pocus, it’s the real deal. Channel your inner Winifred, Mary, and Sarah and get to sipping.
8. The Winning London Drinking Game
You might be confused about what this movie is. It may not be as well known as some of the other movies on this list, but it’s certainly worthy of a drinking game. It’s easily one of Mary-Kate and Ashley’s finest endeavors.
9. The Passport to Paris Drinking Game
If you thought you’d only have one chance to get drunk while watching the Olsen Twins, you sure were wrong. Passport to Paris is another MK and Ashley classic. Sip these cheap champagnes for the ultimate French experience.
10. (Another) Elf Drinking Game
The fact that two separate Spoon Contributors have written Elf drinking games is a testament to the fact that this movie tops the movie drinking games pyramid. This one has different rules than the first one, so feel free to pick your favorite or combine them into one mega game
11. The Lizzie McGuire Movie Drinking Game
Hey, now, hey now, this game is what dreeeeeams are made of. Transport yourself to Rome with Lizzie and company by playing this game with these Italian cocktails.
12. The Mean Girls Drinking Game
On Wednesdays, we play this queen of all movie drinking games. Drink when “you think about Lindsay Lohan’s life and get sad.”
13. The Titanic Drinking Game
I’ll never let go (of my drink). Drink away the pain of poor Leo’s death with this Titanic drinking game. Bonus points if you drink for every dead person you see, which could get pretty tricky (maybe swap out your beer for something a little less alcoholic if you take on this challenge).
14. The Jurassic Park Drinking Game
Welcome to the Jurassic Park drinking game. This game is the perfect way to watch this classic film with your dino-loving pals.
15. The Hangover Drinking Game
Try not to drink too much and wake up hungover after playing this game—that would be too ironic. Here are the healthiest mixers to prevent hangovers to help you out.
If you’re looking for a fun, low-key way to spend your night or snow day, look no further than these movie drinking games. They are the perfect, low-pressure activity to play with a few friends.
