Nissin Foods, the owner of Cup Noodles, announced yesterday that it will be releasing an everything bagel with cream cheese-flavored ramen. At first, I thought this was a belated April Fools joke. But this is no prank — you can go pick up your bagel breakfast-flavored ramen right now exclusively in stores or online at Walmart. As someone who really only eats the chicken-flavored cup noodles when I’m sick, I did not know that Cup Noodles was going this hard — I’m almost as surprised as I was when I found out about Blue Raspberry ICEE-flavored Peeps.

What’s in the Everything Bagel With Cream Cheese-Flavored ramen?

The everything bagel part of this new flavor is not what shocks me. People, including me, have been putting everything bagel topping on ramen ever since Trader Joe’s Everything But The Bagel Seasoning blew up in 2017. The cream cheese is what really doesn’t sound appetizing to me when combined with ramen, especially the reel that Cup Noodles advertised on its Instagram.

What makes this ramen “everything bagel” is, of course, the seasoning. Nissin’s iconic noodles are seasoned with caraway seeds, garlic, dried onion, poppy seeds, and sesame seeds. The bagel schmear comes in the form of cream cheese-flavored sauce. “[C]onsumers have been adding a dash of Everything Seasoning to their ramen since the craze took off,” said Priscila Stanton, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Nissin Foods Usa. “We took inspiration from our consumer base to give everyone's favorite noodles a creamy twist.”

What other unique Cup Noodles flavors are there?

The Everything Bagel With Cream Cheese Cup Noodles is not the only breakfast-inspired flavor that Nissin has created. Nissin is also bringing back its Breakfast Maple Syrup Pancakes, Sausage, And Egg-flavored ramen for a limited time since its release last spring. The suggested retail price for the Everything Bagel With Cream Cheese and the Breakfast Maple Syrup Pancakes, Sausage, And Egg Cup Noodles is $1.18, so you don’t have that much to lose if you just want to try these for laughs.

And one more microwavable ramen flavor for your morning — last October, Nissin released Pumpkin Spice Cup Noodles in honor of Cup Noodles’ 50th anniversary. Who needs a PSL when you can eat it instead?
