As a college student, I don’t have much time to spend in the kitchen. Microwaveable meals have been my go-to since freshman year and still are to this day. With that said, I try to find healthy microwaveable meals that not only taste good, but have a wide variety of options. Life Cuisine, Nestlè’s newest brand, is known for its meals created for different lifestyles and dietary needs and now is expanding with 10 new recipes starting in June.
I had the chance to try Life Cuisine’s new recipes before they hit shelves and I’m going to share my favorites and more about each meal.
5. Buffalo Style Cauliflower Snack Bites
If you like the spicy taste of buffalo sauce, then you’ll love Life Cuisine’s Buffalo Style Cauliflower Bites. These plant-based bites, created for those who follow a meatless lifestyle, are made with cauliflower florets breaded in buffalo style seasoning.
As someone who isn’t crazy about spice, I enjoyed these. They had a kick, but nothing that my sensitive taste buds could not handle. In particular, the crunch of the cauliflower gave these bites more texture making them taste more like the “real-thing.”
Overall, I’d highly recommend these bites for your next football viewing party or family gathering.
4. Chicken Mozzarella Piada
Protein fans can get excited with Life Cuisine’s Chicken Mozzarella Piada. Made with a whopping 19g of protein per serving, this gluten-free meal combines roasted white meat chicken, mozzarella, tomatoes, red onion, basil and chipotle aioli together on cauliflower crust.
The chicken combined with the cheese creates a deliciously satisfying bite that pairs perfectly with a bag of chips or favorite side dish.
3. Pesto Cauliflower Gnocchi Bowl
When I saw that Life Cuisine had a gnocchi meal, I knew I had to get my hands on it. The brands Pesto Cauliflower Gnocchi Bowl is made with cauliflower gnocchi, basil pesto and topped with parmesan cheese. As a pasta lover, I was a bit skeptical, but this did not disappoint. I couldn’t even tell they were cauliflower gnocchi since the consistency, taste and texture were nearly identical to the original.
Not only is the taste amazing, but the meal has 14g of protein and 7g of fiber per serving.
2. Teriyaki Chicken Bowl
This was one of the most flavorful meals I’ve had in a very long time. I’m a fan of teriyaki chicken, but even more so when its mixed with rice and vegetables. This dish combines white meat chicken in a sweet teriyaki glaze with riced cauliflower, edamame, carrots and broccoli to create a sweet and savory flavor with every bite.
Plus, this meal has 60% of your daily value of Vitamin C. Isn’t that great!?
1. Triple Cheese Macaroni & Cheese Bowl
Macaroni and cheese is probably one of the most beloved foods by those of all ages. Life Cuisine’s Triple Cheese Macaroni & Cheese Bowl is made with chickpea penne pasta with vermont white cheddar, romano, and parmesan cheese sauce.
I’m a huge fan of Banza and the pasta is extremely satisfying and delicious. Not to mention, this meal has 28g of protein. Yes, really.
Whether you’re craving comfort food or cheesy goodness, this dish is definitely a must-have in your freezer.
