The 8 Best Ways to Top Your Cauliflower Crust Pizza

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Vandy chapter.

Cauliflower pizza crust. An idea that has been bounced around for the past few years. There are different options on how to make your crust, whether you are trying to just be healthier, avoiding gluten or going vegan. There are also options you can buy online or at Trader Joe’s. As a busy college student, I go simple. I add an egg or a few egg whites, a bag of pre-made cauliflower rice and some of my favorite seasonings. To avoid boredom, I like to change up my toppings in the following ways.

1. Crispy Cheezy Chickpea Pie

After you have cooked your crust for 30-40 minutes, add on some crispy chickpeas and nutritional yeast for a cheesy flavor. Turn your oven on broil for extra crunch.

2. Artichoke avocado

Looking for some healthy fats? Mash up avocado with some lemon juice and mustard. Then, sprinkle on some canned artichokes and vegan cheese for a creamy combo.

3. Shrooms and sauce

Spread on your favorite tomato sauce and toss on a few mushrooms. Easy as 1, 2, 3.

4. Feels like fall

Mash up some maple roasted butternut squash, and add toppings of your choice.

5. Turkey day

Throw on some ground turkey, and other toppings of your choice, for extra protein because #gains.

6. Egg it up

Throw a fried egg on top of your favorite toppings, and call it breakfast.

7. Everything Bagel Style

Load up your pie with hummus, smoked salmon, avocado and spinach. Sprinkle on your everything but the bagel seasoning from TJ’s and you basically got yourself a New York bagel.

8. Italian Delight

Roast up some sweet peppers and artichokes at the same time your ‘za is baking. Add vegan parmesan cheese and a balsamic drizzle, so you’re basically in Roma.

So, save your Dominos order for late night drunk eats and make a pizza you can feel good about! PS: You’ll probably finish the pizza by the time your cheesy bread would have arrived.
