I've tried a variety of gluten-free pizzas, widely ranging in brand and flavor. But, one type of pizza I had never tried before was one with cauliflower crust. When Trader Joe's Cauliflower Pizza Crust was released, I knew I had to try it. With each serving containing about 80 calories and 17 grams of carbs, this dairy-free and gluten-free crust is the perfect, healthy alternative to basic pizza. Here is a full cauliflower crust guide, including some cooking tips and my overall review.

It's Already A Fan Favorite

Due to increasing popularity ever since its release date, I actually had to call my local Trader Joe's and have them put the product on hold for me. Excited for my taste test, I purchased a variety of toppings from Trader Joe's to assemble the perfect pizza creations.

The Method

One of the essentials of making any delicious pizza is the sauce. Don't make a rookie mistake and use pasta sauce because it will be too watery. I used Trader Joe's Fat Free Pizza Sauce and it added the perfect amount of tomato flavor.

In addition to pizza sauce, I added sliced plum tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and arugula to my pie. It's a great classic combination, but there are many other toppings that will work with the cauliflower crust. Try adding prosciutto, meatballs, fresh mozzarella, basil, sautéed onions, or gorgonzola crumbles to take your meal to the next level.

As for the crust itself? The light, crunchy taste is different from any doughy crust you've ever tasted, but regardless, it definitely fulfills a pizza craving. Plus, it's super-easy to prepare. Simply pop it in the oven for 10 minutes on one side and flip to the other side. As suggested on the packaging, I broiled for another few minutes for added crispiness.

Overall, I highly recommend giving this crust a try. For any pizza enthusiast like me, this cauliflower crust will help broaden your pizza horizons -- and provides a healthy option, too!
