6 Frozen Yogurt Desserts To Enjoy This Summer

Frozen yogurt is nothing new, this unique version of yogurt became popular in the early 1970s in the Northeast. Of course, with time this has evolved and frozen yogurt has boomed in the frozen section with popular brands like Yasso and Noosa. Frozen yogurt bars are a healthier alternative to ice cream and are quick and easy to make. So it’s no surprise they have been trending on TikTok on Instagram with creators making their own creations at home. While the most popular is a chocolate-covered bar, there are so many other flavors to make a refreshing and super tasty bar — including bark and bites. Here are six different ways to make frozen yogurt desserts at home.

1. Peanut Butter Chip bars

For our chocolate lovers, this bar is the perfect combination of peanut butter and chocolate for a crunchy yogurt bar. Think of those Haagen-Dazs Vanilla Milk Chocolate Almond Ice Cream Bars! With only six ingredients, you can DIY this delicious bar. Mix dairy-free yogurt, peanut butter, unsweetened chocolate chips or peanuts, and protein powder. Then scoop the mixture with a spoon on parchment paper into small circles. Press popsicle sticks into the center. Let it sit in the freezer for two hours. Melt chocolate and coconut oil and drizzle or cover your bars. Freeze again and enjoy it at any time.

2. Traditional Yogurt bark

If you love a yogurt parfait, opt for making it in a bark for the perfect summer treat. All you need is your favorite yogurt, blueberries, strawberries, and pretzels or granola. Line a baking sheet with the yogurt, add your fruit toppings, and freeze for three hours.

3. Strawberry Popsicles

Popsicles are a classic, no matter the season. To make this a bit more summery, add fruits. All that’s needed is Greek yogurt, strawberries, milk, and sweetener (sugar or honey). Blend and pour the mixture into popsicle molds. Freeze for at least four hours and you’ll find a refreshing snack that can last a week.

4. Almond Butter Cups

Craving some Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, but don’t have them handy? Put a spin with almond butter cups. In a bowl, mix almond butter, yogurt, maple syrup, and almond butter cups. Then scoop into a lined muffin tray, and freeze for two hours.

5. Blueberry Bark

Fruits pair beautifully with yogurt. For this bark, add dollops of yogurt to a lined tray. This time add a handful of blueberries and a drizzling of melted chocolate. Not only is this aesthetic but also the slight acidity of blueberries compliments dark chocolate. If you’re not a fan of chocolate, omit the drizzle, you’ll still have a tasty bark.

6. Mango Bites

These are only two ingredients. If that doesn’t already have you sold, the tropical treat will. Only using diced mangoes and Greek yogurt, blend the two and use a Ziplock bag to gracefully pipe on a sheeted tray. Freeze and it’s all set. Other options include using pineapple or coconut instead of mangoes.
