Cool Off This Summer With A Sweet Treat From Gelato Boy

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Hofstra chapter.

One of the best parts about summer is that the warm weather is an excuse to eat for ice cream. Well, that might not be the case for everyone, but for me it works. Don’t get me wrong, classic ice cream treats are delicious, but what if you could enjoy the same creaminess and flavor with nearly half the fat? Gelato Boy is changing the frozen dessert game with their naturally healthier gelato and here’s what you need to know.

What Is Gelato Boy

Gelato Boy is known for their authentic approach to creating this tasty Italian frozen treat. Made from scratch with the best ingredients, Gelato Boy stands out from its competitors. Not to mention that the brand offers 22+ flavors of gelato and even have dairy-free and vegan options available made from coconut and whole oats.

I’ve had the chance to try four of Gelato Boy’s delicious flavors and I seriously can’t get enough. I’ve only had gelato twice before and this is by far better than any other I’ve tried. Not only is it rich and creamy, but you can taste the freshness and the ingredients in every bite! If you’re looking to try some of Gelato Boy’s frozen desserts this summer, keep reading to find out some of my favorite flavors.

Gelato Boy – Cookies & Cream

You can’t really go wrong with Cookies and Cream flavored anything. While this is a safe choice, it’s delicious and perfect for those simple dessert lovers. This flavor is made with vanilla cashew + coconut milk gelato with our house “better than Oreo” cookies.

Gelato Boy- Gooey Buttercake And Caramel

Buttercake is a dessert that I rarely have, but when I do I wish I had it more. The gooey buttercake and caramel flavor is perfect for those who are looking for something savory and sweet. This flavor stood out because of the cake bites. Not only did they make the flavor come to life, but there was an added texture to create a satisfying bite. This flavor consists of subtly salty caramel gelato with their house made gooey butter cake and a thick caramel swirl.

Gelato Boy – Chocolate Chunk

I’m a chocoholic, so when I saw Gelato Boy’s Chocolate Chunk flavor, I knew I had to try it. I think this flavor tasted the most similar to ice cream, but better because it had a light and airy consistency. This dairy-free flavor is made with cashew + coconut milk chocolate gelato and dark chocolate fudge chunks.

Gelato Boy – Very Vanilla

Very Vanilla was probably my least favorite flavor, not because it didn’t taste good, but because I’m more of a chocolate fan. Made with a blend of vanilla beans & extract blended with fresh milk & cream, this flavor has a strong taste of vanilla bean. I’d recommend this flavor to those who love vanilla or are looking for a classic sweet treat.
