Summer: known as the warmest season of the year lasting from June to August. The definition for college kids: a four month long vacation far far away from the library. I dream for the day of when I move out of my dorm and live it up for a sick summer. I would describe summer as a therapy type of season for me. From wearing pants and sweaters to bathing suits that are wetter, summer is the best season of the year. The smell of the beach, the sound of the waves crashing down to the ground is something I always look forward towards. Here are just 10 of the things why I miss the smell of sweet summer, while I hibernate from season after season.

Nothing tastes better than a classic lobster roll, fresh off the boat, it always satisfies my craving. Just travel further out east to the Hamptons get the best one yet.

2. S'mores Roast

Roasting marshmallows and making s'mores is a big must in the summer season. It is a time to take your boring s'mores to the next level. Maybe add some peanut butter or even cookie dough to have a one-of-a-kind treat!

3. Eating with a Ocean View

It doesn't get any better when you have the most wonderful view while eating something you love. Whether its the beach, any body of water, or even another scenic location, the view is definitely irresistible.

For someone who is a little obsessed with the warm weather, I know it can't get any better than just sitting over looking the view or eating at an outdoor restaurant. Just a nice warm breeze and not wearing heavy clothes!

5. Outdoor Bonfires

Summer is the time to reminisce on the past, and what better way to do it than to sit around a warm, cozy bonfire. Get ready to get around the pit in your backyard or make your own on the beach and roast some marshmallows and tell campfire stories.

6. Ice Cream

pastry, goody, sprinkles, sweet, cake, candy, cream, chocolate
Torey Walsh

I know you can eat ice cream year round, but in the summer it is a much better way to cool off. Why would you want to freeze even more? Just some soft serve and a drizzle of sprinkles are the best way towards making a hot summer day a little cooler.

7. The Boardwalk Food

The amount of boardwalk food you can buy is endless, especially at the Jersey Shore. They have everything from ice cream to fried oreos to funnel cake to curly fries. The amount of fried food they have is infinite.

8. The Fresh Seafood

goody, fish, shellfish, seafood, crab, lobster
Ellen Gibbs

The summer is the time to go on the seafood diet; I sea food, and of course I eat it. It is also the time to eat lots and lots of fresh lobster, salmon, shrimp, and so many other types of fish. Get ready to grab your fishing rod and hook to find the perfect fish in the sea.

9. The Festivities

There are so many things to celebrate in the summer. From starting it right with Memorial Day Weekend to the mid summer 4th of July festivities, to ending it with a bang on Labor Day. Summer is always the season of a lifetime.

Summer is overall the best season of the year. Limited work and the beautiful beaches means time to soak up some sun. It might be far away from now, but get ready to put on your bikinis, tank tops, and shorts to get a head start on the most epic season of the year.
