Got a sweet tooth? We’ve got you. Whether it’s a Wednesday afternoon or a Friday night, we have all the best places to satisfy your sugar cravings for every day of the week.
Monday: Sweet Things
This is the most obvious choice. Located mere steps away from campus, it’s the perfect pick-me-up after a long day of classes. Choose from a wide variety of flavors (Oreo is always a winner), and don’t forget to get your ice cream in a homemade waffle cone!
Tuesday: Blue Sky
You already know and love Blue Sky for their sandwiches, but have you tried their baked goods? A melt-in-your-mouth brownie or a sugar-topped lemon square is sure to brighten your day.
Wednesday: Pronto
Enjoying a cup of homemade gelato from Pronto is one of the best afternoon activities. There’s always a new flavor to try, and luckily, when you walk in the shop you are graciously welcome to sample as many as you’d like! Personally, I’m a big fan of their Pistachio gelato. You can also never go wrong with Mint Chip or Stracciatella, which is basically a better, fancier version of chocolate-chip. You can even get your gelato affogato style by adding a shot of espresso to your gelato. The perfect after class boost!
Thursday: D-hall
We all have a love-hate relationship with the d-hall dessert table. The bright side is you always have approximately 10 different dessert options at your disposal. On any given day you may be presented with apple pie, peanut butter cupcakes, or even bacon chocolate chip cookies! The downside is it’s socially frowned upon to eat all 10 in one sitting. That being said, if the d-hall dessert table can’t satisfy your sugar craving, you may have a serious issue on your hands. (But, there’s always that tub of Nutella in the corner to resort to.)
Friday: Cookout
Late-night sugar cravings kicking in? Roll through the Cookout drive-thru and you will be amazed at the endless milkshake choices. Think: Oreo Mint, Reese’s Cup, Snickers, and even Blueberry Cheesecake! The only regret you’ll have is not trying one sooner. Or not having enough time to try them all.
Saturday: Fireside Pub
Did you know that Fireside serves ice cream from the Homestead Creamery? Did you know that its delicious? Did you know it’s only one dollar per scoop? Next time you find yourself hanging out at the junior village, be sure to spend that Food Flex wisely on something vanilla or chocolate.
Sunday: Waffle House
Imagine you wake up Sunday morning and all you want is something sweet (possibly to take away that headache you may have acquired last night). What do you do? Head to Waffle House of course! A chocolate-chip waffle is sure to do the trick, and put a delicious end to an amazingly sweet weekend. Add some OJ or tomato juice for a guaranteed good day.
