11 Single-Serve Desserts Better Than a Date on Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Georgetown chapter.

Valentine’s Day is coming up, and I am not excited. Who doesn’t love being single on the most romantic holiday of the year? Truly nothing is better than watching couples be ~coupley~ on Valentine’s Day.

Instead of reveling in your loneliness this February 14th, you can make some of these desserts while watching The Bachelor. They are all a single serving, so no couples allowed!

1. Oreo Mug Cake

This dessert is super easy to make (under five minutes in a microwave) and is nom-worthy. If you are especially lonely, maybe add an extra Oreo.

2. S’mores Mug Cake

Summer is four months away, but we can pretend. If you want to make this a bit healthier, you can swap out the olive oil for applesauce.

3. Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies

While I agree that any cookie recipe can be single serve if you try hard enough, this recipe will allow you to revel in moderation.

4. Strawberry Cobbler

I know you’ve been seeing red roses and heart (emojis) all day, but let a little red (strawberries) into your night. Strawberry cobbler is not only yummy, but also healthy.

5. Chocolate Donut, Nutella, and Coffee Ice Cream Sandwich

Donuts > Cookies, no contest. This requires minimal baking (just a quick trip to your local Dunkin’ Donuts or Krispy Kreme) and maximum enjoyment.

6. Microwave Chocolate Cake

This scrumptious chocolate cake can be made in two minutes. Do I need to say more?

7. Cinnamon Roll Waffle Sandwich

Any dessert that can be made with bacon, nutella, or peanut butter deserves a space in my life and on my Instagram feed.

8.  Personal Brownie Skillet

Serve yourself a hot pan of self-love this Valentine’s Day with a single serving brownie skillet. There is truly nothing better.

9. Salted Caramel Apple Mason Jar Cheesecake

Salted caramel is without a doubt the best flavor combination in the world (don’t fight me on this, I will not change my mind). Combine that with a crisp apple and some graham crackers, and you will be #artsy.

10. Rice Krispy Treats

I’m never buying store bought Rice Krispies Treats again. This one minute ~treat~ will make you forget your sorrows.

11. S’mores Burrito

Move over sushi burritos, this is the next big thing. Can I eat this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, or is this just a dessert?

I hope you’re feeling a bit less lonely and a lot more hungry after reading this. Valentine’s Day still sucks for us singles, but you can serve yourself in style
