The town of Fairfield is blessed with some of the best restaurants in the New England area. Well known places like Mecha Noodle Bar and Milkcraft, tend to overshadow the rest of the glory in town. However, the food choices in Fairfield can please anyone regardless of what they’re craving. Not only is there nice sit down restaurants, but there’s places to grab a quick lunch and run. Fairfield caters to all food lovers for any meal of the day.
I thought it would be fun to take a survey within my Spoon chapter and see how these foodies rank the restaurants around. Rather than just giving a list of best, I decided to categorize the restaurants by price point.
Best Cheap Eats: Firehouse Deli
When you’re looking for something fast yet heavenly, Firehouse Deli is the way to go. Firehouse Deli mainly serves breakfast and lunch but everyone can agree that they crave their sandwiches all day. Most people opt for the Redgate, grilled chicken, bacon, avocado, jack cheese, basic, mayo on a hard roll, but my favorite is the Lugano Croissant, honey maple ham, swiss cheese, honey mustard, mayo, lettuce and tomato.
Best Moderately Priced Restaurant: Colony Grill
Colony Grill is known for their thin crust hot oil pizza. They can make any kind of pizza you can imagine including gluten free. They’re just the right size to eat an entire pie yourself and trust me, you’re going to want to. Their Salad Pizza is the best way to eat your vegetables.
Best High End Restaurant: Molto
Pizzeria Molto won the vote by far. Their traditional Italian menu accompanied by the city like atmosphere makes for a fine dining experience. Everything on their menu is coated in the most extravagant ingredients such as truffle honey, fresh parmesan, and all their homemade sauces.
I recommend getting a few tapas and sharing them with a date. My favorites are the Brussel Sprouts, topped with pancetta and truffle honey, the Roasted Cauliflower, encrusted in parmesan cheese and truffle cream sauce, and the Nella Salad, mixed greens, blood oranges, beets, goat cheese dressed with a lemon dressing.
While Fairfield’s array of food is quite diverse in it’s taste, it also varies in price point. Regardless of if you’re a broke college student or looking to take someone out on a romantic date, Fairfield has you covered.
