If you know anything about me, you’ll know that I’m obsessed with Chobani Flip yogurts. I discovered them last year in my sophomore year of college after a full quarter of eating plain vanilla yogurt with bland granola, and let me tell you: I am never going back to regular yogurt.
Chobani currently offers 18 flavors at most grocery stores. My obsession has gotten to the point where I’ve tried every single flavor available at my nearest grocery store — which stocks all of the flavors minus Boston Cream Pie and Pumpkin Harvest Crisp. With this experience, I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on my favorite flavors.
Here’s my top five Chobani Flip flavors and why — based on factors like taste, texture, sweetness, and craveability. Make sure to keep this ranking in mind when you buy a Chobani Flip on your next grocery trip.
Honorable Mention: Chocolate Covered Strawberry
If there was a sixth place podium spot available in the rankings, Chocolate Covered Strawberry would definitely be on that pedestal. Maybe I’m nostalgic or biased, since this was the first Chobani Flip flavor I tasted, but there’s something about this flavor that has me craving it on occasion.
I love strawberry yogurt, so the base of this Chobani Flip flavor is already off to a good start. The mix-ins — brownie pieces, white chocolate chips, and cocoa swirl chunks — make for a delightful medley of textures. My only complaint is that it can become a little too sweet after a few bites, but if you have a sweet tooth, this flavor should definitely be your first Chobani Flip experience.
5. Cookies & Cream
In fifth place is a classic flavor: Cookies & Cream. There’s something so nostalgic about this — it feels like a healthier version of the YoCrunch Oreo yogurts that my mom used to buy for my sister and I when she wasn’t concerned about the amount of sugar in each one.
The actual execution of this flavor is pretty simple: vanilla Greek yogurt with chocolate particles, topped with chocolate cookie pieces and shards of icing that taste more like white chocolate.
I do wish the chocolate cookie pieces were bigger — I’m not sure if mine are getting broken down in transport, but they’re more crumb-like than actual pieces. However, you can’t go wrong with an iconic flavor like Cookies & Cream.
4. S’more S’mores
When I was in the early stages of my Chobani Flip journey, S’more S’mores was one of my go-to flavors because of its familiarity. I mean, who doesn’t love a s’more?
Vanilla Greek yogurt acts as the base once again for this Chobani Flip, but it definitely is much sweeter than the Cookies & Cream’s vanilla yogurt, likely to mimic the marshmallow flavor of a s’more.
The toppings include graham cracker pieces, milk chocolate chips, and toasted sugar bits. Again, the graham cracker pieces are more like crumbs, so it can be a messy flipping process at times. However, the toasted sugar bits with the milk chocolate chips are an incredible bite.
My only complaint with this flavor is that the ratio of toppings to yogurt usually ends up a little off for me, and I can sometimes end up with a toppings-less last bite, which warrants the fourth place ranking.
Even so, I don’t know who thought of adding toasted sugar bits into this yogurt, but I am so grateful to them — it adds a lovely caramel flavor to every bite.
3. Key Lime Crumble
This is a controversial placement — whenever I ask a fellow Chobani Flip enthusiast what their favorite flavor is, nine times out of ten, it’s Key Lime Crumble, and the hype is understandable.
This flavor literally tastes like dessert to me. It’s definitely on the sweeter side, similar to or maybe even exceeding Chocolate Covered Strawberry.
It starts with key lime Greek yogurt that is topped with graham crackers and white chocolate. Both the yogurt itself and the white chocolate contribute to the sweetness of this Chobani flip.
However sweet it may be, this flavor is so craveable that I can sometimes convince myself that I can smell it before I take it out of the fridge. I actually have one in my fridge right now, for the day that I want to have dessert for breakfast.
2. Coconut Caramel Cookie
The last two flavors were definitely a difficult toss up for me, because I crave both of them nearly equally. However, after evaluating how much I reach for each flavor, I’ve landed on Coconut Caramel Cookie as taking the second place spot.
This flavor is incredible, and I’ve gushed about it more than a few times to people in my early morning classes when I have it for breakfast. If you’re a fan of the Girl Scout Samoa cookies, you will love this flavor — this yogurt is basically a low-sugar alternative to the cookies, but equally as craveable and delicious.
Caramel yogurt may sound a bit strange at first, but with all of the toppings, the flavor makes complete sense. The yogurt also contains small pieces of shredded coconut, which gives an amazing texture to every bite.
Speaking of texture, the mouthfeel of the coconut cube topping is like nothing I’ve ever experienced. It’s soft and dense, yet also strangely firm — I think every person should try one of these at least once in their life. Combine the coconut cubes with milk chocolate chips and graham crumble, and it’s the absolute perfect bite.
You’d think that this yogurt flavor would be overwhelmingly sweet, but the sugary toppings are surprisingly balanced by the tangy Greek yogurt. Definitely a 10/10 flavor.
1. Chocolate Haze Craze
My number-one spot has to go to Chocolate Haze Craze. I crave this flavor when I’m in class, when I’m with friends, when I’m dreaming — when I say that I’m obsessed with this flavor, I’m completely serious. Maybe part of this obsession has to do with my COVID era of eating Nutella by the spoonful — we’ve all done it, I’m sure — but nothing beats this tried-and-true flavor for me.
Chocolate Haze Craze starts with a chocolate hazelnut-flavored Greek yogurt that tastes like Nutella has been mixed into Greek yogurt.
The texture from the toppings is what keeps me coming back for more. The crunchy hazelnuts are texturally textbook, and the milk chocolate chips add a bit of sweetness that the yogurt lacks standing alone. It’s a balanced flavor, but it still feels indulgent and dessert-like. If I could eat the Chocolate Haze Craze Chobani Flip every breakfast for the rest of my life, I’d do it, and I still wouldn’t be sick of it.
