As Halloween approaches, so does Dracula, and so it just makes perfect sense that garlic is beginning to have its moment in the spirit of keeping any vampires at bay. That’s right, garlic parmesan is on the come up this week, and it’s finding itself in the saucy, slathered burger form of garlic parmesan dipped burgers.
Garlic parmesan dipped burgers were first posted on July 7 by @foodieholly_ on TikTok. The video, which has 1.3M views and over 93K likes, features two halves of a thick cheeseburger face down in a pool of garlic parmesan sauce, placed next to a pile of crispy french fries.
The recipe calls for caramelized onions mixed with bacon, two smashed cheeseburger patties, toasted brioche buns, and, of course, the star of the show: a delicious garlic parmesan sauce, which is made up of melted butter, fresh garlic, cream, spices and herbs, and freshly-shaved parmesan cheese.
“The trick is to cook everything in one pan so that the [garlic parmesan] sauce gets all the leftover caramelized juicy bits for a super flavorful base,” Holly said in her video.
The plating is just as important as the cooking process for this dish. To start, Holly uses a deep oval-shaped plate. The depth of the plate is important because she pours a pool of sauce into the dish to serve as the base. Then, she cuts the burger in half and places each half flat-side down for the perfect first bite to be soaked in garlic parm sauce. Fries go on the side to be used as vehicles for any remaining sauce.
Needless to say, with a delicacy like that, the comments were full of people craving a dish they’ve never tried. “This is all I really want in life,” commented one TikTok user.
While Holly’s video gained plenty of traction on its own, a video posted on September 7 by @_nada_dl on TikTok making another version of Holly’s original garlic parmesan dipped cheeseburgers quickly went viral and generated buzz around the recipe, garnering 20.3M views and 2.2M likes in just over two weeks.
The actual burger itself doesn’t look too different from Holly’s, other than there being less toppings on the burger itself. In Nada’s video, her burgers are pure indulgence — not one attempt at including a vegetable has been made — and her fries are also garlic parm-ified with a topping of shredded parmesan and herbs.
Again, the comments on Nada’s video did not disappoint. “So when can I come over?” commented one user.
Enthusiastic reaction creators have also become infatuated with this garlic parmesan dipped cheeseburger, like @richardsalesofficial on TikTok, who has over 10 million followers on the platform. “That looks perfect,” he said about the toasted brioche buns.
I’m hoping someone will invite me over when they make these cheeseburgers, because this new vehicle for garlic parmesan flavor looks mind-blowingly delicious.
