If you live in New York City or are on social media at all, then you have probably heard of Levaine Bakery's warm and gigantic chocolate chip cookies. While their cookies are delicious, there is a new competitor: Chip NYC

What Is It?

Chip NYC was inspired by wanting to recreate that perfect childhood cookie in a new, fun, and delicious way. Chip NYC is home to several different flavored cookies which are swapped out daily. In addition to cookies, Chip NYC also serves coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, and more.

Where Is It?

Chip NYC opened its first bakery in Astoria, Queens. Chip also has a location at Gansevoort Market in Manhattan. The Astoria location is open Tuesday-Sunday from 11am-10pm and the Gansevoort Market location is open on Monday-Sunday from 11am-8pm.

What Flavors Do They Have?

Chip NYC is home to many different flavors of cookies which they swap out daily. To find out the flavors they are serving, check out their Instagram - @ChipNewYorkCity. Some of the flavors offered include:  Chocolate Chip Walnut, S'mores, Funfetti, Triple Chocolate, Red Velvet, Rocky Road, Lucky Charms, Carrot Cake, Rainbow, Baklava, Nutella Sea Salt, Hot Fudge Sundae, Snickersdoodle, Blueberry Cheesecake, and more.

On my last trip to Chip NYC, I was able to try the Nutella Sea Salt, Chocolate Chip Walnut, Red Velvet, and Lucky Charms cookies. I have to say these cookies are probably some of the best I have ever had. The cookies are large and gooey and contain different fillings and toppings. My favorite cookie was the Lucky Charms because it was marshmallow charms on a delicious (butter/sugar) cookie. For those who are fans of the classic chocolate chip cookie, the Chocolate Chip Walnut is tasty and the added walnuts give it an extra crunch to balance out the melty goodness.

How Much Do They Cost?

Each cookie costs $3.50 which is pretty good considering how large the cookies are and the flavors offered. If you buy five cookies, you get a sixth one free which is a bonus.

Did Someone Say Ice Cream?

Chip NYC recently added ice cream to their menu which is a perfect way to stay cool during the summer months. At the Astoria location, you can find flavors including: Chocolate Chip, S'mores, Chocolate Peanut Butter and Funfetti soft serve. They also will have ice cream cookie sandwich options available for purchase.

Final Thoughts

I would definitely recommend taking a trip to Chip NYC to try some of the most delicious cookies that New York City has to offer. Although I still think the Chocolate Chip Walnut cookie from Levain Bakery is better, I think Chip specializes in making extraordinary out of the box flavors without sacrificing the taste and consistency. I thought the Chip cookies were served at just the right temperature where they were warm, but not to the point of the chocolate melting on your hands which is always a plus when it comes to eating any dessert.
