The Berzatto family is back. The long-awaited return of The Bear is finally here with its third season. The show masterfully blends the intense culinary world with rich dynamics, showcasing the complex characters with a layer of humor. On Wednesday, June 26, the third season premiered on Hulu, then became available to viewers on Disney Plus on Wednesday, June 26. If you remember episode six of the previous season, you’d recall a haunting Christmas dinner and a star-studded Berzatto family featuring Jamie Lee Curtis, Sarah Paulson, John Mulaney, and more. The latest season is no different, and yes, that was professional wrestler and actor John Cena in episode five.
John Cena and…The Bear?
Although John Cena’s appearance in the show may be surprising, the professional wrestler is known for his comedic roles in films like Blockers, Suicide Squad, and Barbie. Throughout his career, Cena has also made exceptionally funny cameos in movies and television shows.
Cena’s debut in The Bear may be surprising, but it seems fitting after last season’s star-studded cameos, which included Jamie Lee Curtis as Donna and John Mulaney as Stevie. This season’s cast is just as star-studded as the latter. Real-life chefs Daniel Boulud, Thomas Keller, René Redzepi, and Christina Tosi are also featured in season three.
In episode five, titled “Children,” we are introduced to Sammy Fak, played by Cena. Sammy joins his family, Neil and Theodore (also known as Ted) Fak, creating drama. His interaction with the eccentric Fak family promises to be entertaining this season as Sammy shows up to settle a score between him and his little brother, Ted. Sammy is involved in several scenes throughout the episode, giving us further insight into the Fak family and their history. Sammy’s character is a larger-than-life personality known for his charming and unpredictable nature. Cena plays into the Fak older brother well, playing jokes on Ted and Neil while also stirring up some family drama of “haunting.”
All episodes of season three have been released, so if you are looking for a new show to binge or just want to see John Cena in action in the kitchen, this season of The Bear may just be what you need.
