Of all the traditions that represent Halloween, eating candy is one of the most iconic. At no other time of year are we encouraged to collect as much free candy as possible (from strangers no less) and then eat it all.

M&Ms, Reese’s, and Hershey’s are three tried and true candy companies that bring to mind the nostalgia of childhood trick-or-treating. But in recent years, these brands and their newer competitors haven’t simply settled for their original products — they’re innovating. This season, a whole batch of new Halloween candy hit the market. Here are the 13 best new Halloween candies coming to stores near you.

1. Pumpkin Pie Kits Kats

Kit Kat doesn't want you to have to wait for Thanksgiving to get your pumpkin pie fix. This year, you can enjoy the same crunchy wafers with a creamy, pumpkin-y filling.

2. Milka Mint Oreo Chocolate Bars

The Swiss confectioner Milka packed all the flavor of a mint Oreo into a chocolate bar this season. Since these bars are individually wrapped (unlike a traditional box of Oreos), it might even encourage some portion control.

3. Reese's Peanut Butter Bats

When Reese's introduced Christmas tree-shaped peanut butter cups for the holiday season, they exploded across social media, but actually for failing to look very much like a tree. Reese's new bat-shaped peanut butter cups appear to face a similar dilemma, but at least they've got the same great taste as the originals.

4. Caramel Apple and Candy Corn Peeps

Peeps are not just for Easter anymore. With new candy corn and caramel apple flavors, these additions would be great to use in a festive holiday dessert

5. Pumpkin Spice Latte M&Ms

It's PSL season, baby. M&Ms did you a solid this year and made candy flavored like your favorite Starbucks order.

6. Sweet Heat Skittles

Skittles wins major points for creativity with their Sweet Heat flavor. No idea what these actually taste like, but I'm certainly intrigued. Take a risk this Halloween and give them a try.

7. Cookies and Screeem M&Ms

M&Ms is at it again with a new cookies and cream flavor (appropriately titled "Cookies and Screeem"). Dark chocolate shell. White chocolate core. What more do you need?

8. Pumpkin Spice Hershey's Kisses

More pumpkin spice! This time, in the form of Hershey's kisses. Put them in a pretty bowl on your kitchen table, and bam, delicious holiday decor.

9. Smokin' Hot Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cups

Butterfinger is keeping up the sweet and spicy trend with their Smokin' Hot Butterfingers. Only buy them if you can handle the heat, though.

10. Triple Chocolate Kit Kats

For all the chocolate lovers out there, your dreams just came true. Stock up on these triple chocolate Kit Kats to celebrate Halloween right.

11. Trader Joe's Salted Caramels

Once again, Trader Joe's delivers. Take your pick between apple cider or pumpkin spice caramels — either one is a sure winner. Also, can we talk about that packaging aesthetic? Such beauty.

12. Brach's Cookie Candy Corn

The consumption of candy corn is a polarizing topic. Some love it, while others believe it should stay with the Halloween decorations. If you're into it, Brach's made a cookie flavor. Check it out.

Surprise, surprise, another pumpkin spice candy! These Werther's caramels take the trendiest flavor of the season and make it a soft and creamy treat. They're limited edition, so enjoy them while you can.
