5 Ways to Eat Eggs That Prove They’re Not Just a Breakfast Food

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at FSU chapter.

Everyone loves a hearty breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon, and potatoes with some toast and coffee. When people think of breakfast they think of eggs, but I’m here to tell you that eggs are meant for more than just the first meal of the day—scrambled, over-easy, you name it. Here are five ways to eat eggs that aren’t your average breakfast fare.

#SpoonTip: Be just as adventurous with eggs as you are with putting pineapples on pizza.

1. Avocado Toast

Once you add a fried egg to your avocado toast, you’ll never go back. Tomatoes are also fire on this popular breakfast meal. Avocado toast is too plain without a fried egg and gets old after a while, so throwing an egg on it is an eggcellent choice. Dipping your toast in egg yolk is 10/10 just as satisfying as dipping your fries in ranch dressing— just sayin’.

2. Pizza

If you can put pineapples and anchovies on your pizza, but are hesitant to add fried eggs then I’m judging you. I promise it’s great. Just think about it: pizza and eggs, that’s gotta be better than Batman and Robin. Okay, maybe not that far but it’s a close second.

3. Breakfast Burger

Bacon cheeseburgers are bomb, so why stop there? Everyone loves breakfast for dinner, and there’s nothing better than a cheeseburger with a fried egg.

4. Breakfast Tacos

I know you’ve been searching for an excuse to eat tacos for every meal, so you’re welcome. Now you have the option of eating tacos with scrambled eggs, chorizo, queso fresco, and salsa at the crack of dawn. Pair this with coffee and your Monday morning won’t be so bad.

5. Ramen

Ramen is so much better when you don’t eat it the way it comes; add vegetables of your choice, hard-boiled eggs, or drop the eggs in the pot while the noodles cook for an over-easy or medium finish. You can scramble eggs in the pot with the noodles as well. Ramen lets eggs be anything they want to be.

These are five easy ways to bring on your egg game for dinner, while still being a brunch enthusiast. If you’re an egg lover, these will change your life, especially the avocado toast if you eat that frequently. I think I’m going to order a pizza with fried eggs, prosciutto, and mushrooms for takeout now.
