You can order just about anything on Uber Eats nowadays, from edible bouquets to cell phones. And while restaurants, fast food chains and convenience stores are obvious options, you can also get movie theater food from AMC on the app. Yes, a movie theater. Who needs microwave popcorn and frozen chicken tenders when you can have the essentials delivered right to your door?
How can you order AMC Theatres snacks on Uber Eats?
In a video that has over 600,000 views on TikTok, user Katherine (@katherinektk8) paired her home viewing of SNL’s 50th Anniversary last weekend with AMC snacks delivered via Uber Eats. Katherine posted a TikTok showcasing the spread from AMC, which included slushies, M&Ms and a bag of popcorn bigger than a person’s head.
On @staycha_’s post about ordering AMC on Uber Eats for the first time, user @choliemolly commented that her MegaBag “lasted what felt like a month.”
Like Katherine and Staycha, many people are just finding out about AMC’s food delivery, despite the theater partnering with Uber Eats back in 2022. The partnership originally started with theaters in Chicago and Kansas City. Now, 550 locations in almost all 50 United States participate.
Concession food lovers can look beyond one app. In addition to Uber Eats, DoorDash also started offering AMC delivery from select theaters in the fall of last year, with plans to expand nationwide by this spring.
What can you order from AMC on Uber Eats?
When it comes to concession delivery from AMC, most customers order the MegaBag, which is three times the size of the theater’s large popcorn. Stick with regular butter, or add cheddar, caramel, or a mix of both flavors. It even comes with an 8 oz. bottle of that signature melted movie theater butter to pour on top.
In addition to classic AMC popcorn, customers can also order both savory and sweet movie snacks from the movie theater via Uber Eats. Options range from hot dogs and flavored soft pretzels to sweet treats like cookie dough bites and Reese’s pieces.
How much does it cost to order from AMC on Uber Eats?
The convenience of delivery comes at a cost — and AMC concession delivery doesn’t even include movie ticket prices. According to Katherine’s TikTok caption, her “at home movie night cost $50.”
One MegaBag of popcorn is $24 on both DoorDash and Uber Eats, and taxes and delivery fees can nearly double the price. But what bothered viewers most were the prices of Katherine’s other concessions: A slushie costs about $8, while a bag of plain M&Ms costs more than $6.
“I understand ordering the movie theater popcorn bc YUM but like the candy??!!” user @halieschu commented. “Please just go to the dollar store AMC is ROBBING you.”
Another commenter wrote, “Girl like order from 7-Eleven I don’t know.” For context, a 30-ounce Slurpee from 7-Eleven costs less than $3 on Uber Eats, and the same bag of M&Ms costs as little as $2.
While Katherine splurged on her original AMC order, she took @chamimellll’s advice and bundled up to head to her local convenience store the next night. As a joke, she posted a new TikTok and wrote that “due to everyone’s unsolicited financial advice, I forced myself to walk to 7[-Eleven] in the snow and I was able to save enough money for a down payment on a house.”
Now that movie theater concessions have made their way to food delivery apps, who knows what might come to Uber Eats next. Personally, my fingers are crossed for Disneyland beignets.
