Welcome to the renewed Trinity College Chapter of Spoon University!
Is your Instagram explore page filled from top to bottom with pictures and videos of food? Does your Tik Tok feed exclusively feature videos of beautifully edited food creations? Did you find yourself running to the grocery store after watching Emily Mariko’s salmon bowl video for the first time in the Fall of 2021? Us too.
Whether you’re a food lover, have a passion for writing and journalism, or simply want to try out any and all of the mouth-watering restaurants that Hartford has to offer, you’re in the right place.
What is Spoon University?
Spoon University is the food resource for our generation: a community of thousands of members ranging across hundreds of college campuses, who all share a love for food. Whether you have some killer dorm hack recipes, want to review a new restaurant you just tried in West Hartford, or have a new drink that everyone NEEDS to try, Spoon offers an outlet for you to share ultimately anything you desire with the Trinity community and beyond. If you are new to Trinity, this is your chance to break away from Mather Dining Hall to try some new spots around the area (or you can share your best Mather hacks for first-years).
Meet Our Team
My name is Lily Ives and I am the Editorial Director of the Trinity College Chapter. After posting religiously on my personal food account for two years that has amassed an overwhelming fifty followers, I am ready to move on to the big stage and share that passion with a vast community of food lovers. I am joined by our talented Photography/Graphics Director Keelyn McNamara, as well as our Marketing/Social media directors, Meaghan Bernardin and Ali Quirk. We are all current seniors, and nearly shed a tear when we think about this being our final year that we can conveniently take a 12 minute ride to Max Burger or Zohara in West Hartford, for a delicious Friday night meal (or a shameless Tuesday night. Though we are constantly on the hunt for new spots, we also have nearly four years of experience under our belts, which means we have an incredible amount to share. Don’t worry, we don’t gatekeep (even though we admittedly want to keep The Kitchen’s famous curry chicken salad to ourselves).
