1. Organic Elote Corn Chip Dippers
These chips are marketed as dippers, implying the necessity for dip, but the flavor packed in each bag stands on its own. Described on the packaging as having “Mexican street corn flavored seasoning,” these chips deliver on that promise with just a little kick of heat. My suggestion would be to try pairing these with guacamole, or buffalo chicken dip if you’re feeling adventurous. All in all, this is definitely one of my favorite Trader Joe’s snacks – with or without dip.
2. Dark Chocolate Roasted Pistachio Toffee
Each of the individual ingredients listed in the name of this snack are perfectly fine on their own, but when you mash them all together the result is truly decadent. I’m a sucker for dark chocolate, and the salt of the pistachios really helps to draw out its bitter-sweetness. However, it’s when you get down to the toffee that the magic truly happens. Toffee on its own is nice, but toffee with dark chocolate and pistachios tones down the sweetness just enough that you can easily indulge in two, or three, or four pieces without getting a tummy-ache. This is my go-to snack at the end of a particularly rough shift at work or as a reward for getting a task done.
3. Mini Cheese Sandwich Crackers
These bite-sized snack sandwiches may be small, but they ooze with cheesy goodness and just the right amount of crunch. Filled with the kind of cheese you’d find on the Keebler-brand sandwich crackers of childhood, this Trader Joe’s snack is the perfect, nostalgic rendition on something so delightfully familiar. These are a wonderful addition to a packed lunch, or as a pick-me-up snack to have between classes.
4. Cold Brew Latte Dessert Bars
This snack is perfect for when you’re craving coffee but don’t want to commit to all that caffeine. These frozen bars are definitely lighter and icier than ice cream, more akin to a Popsicle in taste and form. Even so, they still manage to capture the milky smoothness of an actual latte. If you want to indulge your sweet tooth but don’t want to feel full and heavy afterwards, opt for these the next time you go to Trader Joe’s.
5. Roasted Coconut Chips
This final Trader Joe’s snack is the simplest of them all, with only five ingredients listed. The coconut chips, sliced into small slivers, hold the perfect balance between crispness and succulence. Like the chips listed in the first entry, this snack is great on its own, but can also pair wonderfully with a variety of other dessert foods (pro-tip: try eating these and the dark chocolate roasted pistachio toffee together – you won’t regret it).
Enjoy my randomly assorted list of Trader Joe’s snacks. I hope I have given stomachs everywhere something to grumble about and yearn for. Next time you happen to be at TJ’s, do yourself a favor and try something on this list.
