Cut the mushrooms into quarters.
Pour 4 litres of water into a pot.
Place the mushrooms in the pot with water and wait for the water to boil.
Once the pot boils, skim off all the foam on the soup and continue boiling the mushrooms for 1 hour.
While the pot is boiling, peel and cut the onion into small pieces.
Wash, peel and cut a carrot into small pieces.
Pour the oil into a frying pan.
Add carrots and onions to the pan.
Continue stirring the carrots and onions around the pan until the onions turn a light golden colour.
After the mushrooms have been boiling for one hour, place the fried onions and carrots into the pot with the mushrooms.
Add 5 bay leaves to the soup.
Cut a medium-sized potato into pieces and add it to the soup.
When the potato becomes soft, add noodles of your choice to the soup and boil the soup until the noodles get soft.
Your mushroom soup is ready to be served!
