I Tried Gordon Ramsay’s Guide to Cook the Perfect Steak and Here’s What Happened

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at UBC chapter.

Whenever I don’t want to do my assignments, readings and essays, I go to the world of YouTube and watch some cooking videos. Of them all, Gordon Ramsay’s ULTIMATE COOKERY COURSE: How to Cook the Perfect Steak just blew my mind.

In this short 2 minutes 30 seconds of cooking, he literally cooked the perfect steak that looked way too delicious. As a person who loves to eat steak, I decided to follow this guide and make my own. I used beef tenderloin, but if you don’t like beef tenderloin, here’s a guide that explains different cuts of steak.

Also, if you don’t know when to take out your steak, this guide can help you figure out how Gordon did it in his video.

I know that the ingredients I have listed above are not exactly what Gordon uses in his video. But not everyone is a chef. So don’t retain yourself from cooking just because you don’t have thyme. It is perfectly fine and still turns out great.

So here’s my attempt of following Gordon Ramday’s guide to cook the perfect steak. If you are more curious about his videos you can check them out here. The guide was really easy to follow, no rocket science, and most importantly, it was delicious. I learned a lot of things from the video and hope to find out more amazing ways to cook.
