How to Make Jungle Juice for Your Next Party

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at U Vic chapter.

Jungle juice is kind of like the more broke, less classy cousin of a good sangria. Typically spotted at frats and day parties (aka darties), this juice, fruit, and alcohol concoction is great for throwing everything but the kitchen sink in. Learning how to make jungle juice is also generally really easy.

Got an assortment of almost empty hard alcohol? Toss it in. Still have that unopened bag of frozen fruit you bought when you swore you were going to start making smoothies every morning? Toss that in too.

This recipe is also great for big groups of people when you don’t want to spend very much money (sounds like a good time to me).

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Ellie Gilchrist

Find a good container that isn’t going to leak and is big enough to hold all of the jungle juice with room to stir.

  2. Ellie Gilchrist

Pour in the OJ, cranberry cocktail, and lemonade.

  3. Ellie Gilchrist

Pour in 3/4 of the vodka and 2 cups of peach schnapps (you can always put more in but unless you’ve got some seriously magical talents, that vodka won’t be coming out).

  4. Jaime Wilson

Optional: Add in any of the leftover assorted alcohol. Just make sure not to throw in too many really flavourful alcohols that will overpower the juice.

  5. Ellie Gilchrist

Measure out 1 1/2 cups of lemonade powder and mix it in until all of the powder is dissolved.

  6. Ellie Gilchrist

Time for a taste test. If it isn’t strong enough, pour in some more vodka, or if it’s too strong, add in some more lemonade powder. The one thing to watch for is that you want the juice to be almost too concentrated at this point because the fruit will water it down a bit.

  7. Ellie Gilchrist

Toss in that frozen fruit and the chopped apples to your heart’s content.

  8. Ellie Gilchrist

Stick the mixture into the fridge overnight to let all the flavours blend, then pull it out right before you want to start drinking.

  9. Ellie Gilchrist

Add in the Sprite, and enjoy! You earned it.

Jungle juice will taste good pretty much no matter what, so if you don’t have the exact amounts or all the ingredients in this recipe, don’t sweat it. As long as you have a good alcohol to fruit to juice ratio, you’re good to go. Now that you know how to make jungle juice, remember to always get lit responsibly, and happy partying!
