Recently, Chip and Joanna Gaines, famous from their HGTV show “Fixer Upper,” built a market including shopping, games, a garden, and most importantly, delicious food trucks. Just about an hour and a half away from Dallas in Waco, Texas, there is a little something for everyone to do at The Magnolia Market at the Silos. From relaxing on the lawn in bean bags to shoving an abundance of tasty food in your mouth, everyone should take a trip down to the Silos.
1. The Bakery
You can browse the excellent reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor, but I think the mile-long line that wraps around the Silos Baking Co. building proves just how delicious these cupcakes are. Joanna definitely is a master of interior design, but I would claim her cupcakes are as good as her designs or even better. They’re that good. These cupcakes are the definition of heaven: extremely moist cake topped with rich and creamy frosting. My personal favorite flavors were the Strawberries N’ Cream, Lemon Lavender, and Pumpkin (seasonal). If you get anything out of this article, it should be that the cupcakes are a must-have. They are worth the long line.
2. The Food Trucks
From crepes, pizza, smoothies, salads, gourmet grilled cheese, rice bowls, sandwiches, and much more, there is a food truck for everyone. Milo serves a twist on southern food with homemade biscuit sandwiches, burgers, and more. Co-Town Crepes serve both sweet and savory crepes that never disappoint with tasty creations. Cheddar Box serves some tasty classics from grilled cheese and tomato soup to homemade macaroni and cheese. Viteks serves the absolute best barbecue. 900 Pizzeria serves mouth-watering gourmet pizza. Luna Juice serves fresh, cold-pressed juices, smoothies, and salads. Club Sandwich serves unique sandwiches with an Asian fusion twist. Check out Common Grounds for one of the best cups of coffee found in Waco. As you can see, food is found at every corner of the Magnolia Market at the Silos.
3. The Lawn
Relaxing on the lawn is an absolute must-do. Located at the center of the property, the lawn will always be filled with families playing corn hole, having potato sack races and throwing a football. The lawn makes the Magnolia Market at the Silos more than just a place to shop and eat, but a place to enjoy time and relax with friends and family.
4. The Market
Joanna says, “the Market itself is staged and set up with one goal in mind: to inspire you to own the space you’re in.” No one can leave Waco without taking home a little something for your dorm room. The Magnolia Market has beautiful home decor for anyone looking to spice up their room.
Perfect for a quick day trip, The Magnolia Market at the Silos is an ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle from your everyday routine.
