7 Rosés for Every Occasion That You Should Drink With Your Mom

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at JMU chapter.

Now that you’re old enough and back from school, you can finally drink at home. No one is more excited than your mom because she finally has a drinking buddy. She can stop trying to give wine to the dog just so she can have someone to drink rosés with on a weekday.

She now has an excuse to buy all the fun bottles of rosé she’s been wanting to try from that cool wine store that also sells fancy sandwiches and artisanal cheeses. She’ll never buy those cheeses that you pair with wine, though, because she knows you’ll both just stuff your faces with brie. Brie makes you feel fancy. Like Queen of England fancy. What else makes you feel fancy? Rosé. Let’s talk wine.

Here are the best rosé wines you should be drinking with your mom or whomever is your classy drinking buddy this summer:

1. The Beginner: Ruby Red Rosé

Worried about rosé because you think you’re not classy enough? Don’t really love the taste of a nice dry wine? No need to wine about it because I’ve got the perfect wine for you (and plenty of puns). This Ruby Red Rosé with natural grapefruit flavoring is so good it’s almost juice. It’s perfect if you and your drinking buddy aren’t dry-wine-lovers. Then, have this for dessert.

2. The Next Step: Nozieres Le Gravis Malbec Rosé

Let me guess. You and your mom are looking for a slightly drier wine that’s just classy enough to not break the bank? Nozieres Le Gravis Malbec Rosé will do just the trick. And if you don’t finish it, you can cook with it later.

3. The Dinner Rosé: Domaine Lafage Miraflors Rosé

So you’re cooking with your mom, just like old times, and you want a light, crisp wine that pairs well with what you’re eating, but still does the trick with its 14.5% ABV? Domaine Lafage Miraflors Rosé works perfectly with delicious summer salads. It also has a pretty dank clear cork. #thefuture

4. The Trendy One: Chateau Beaulieu Coteauz d’aix-en-Provence Rosé

The Chateau Beaulieu Coteauz d’aix-en-Provence Rosé has the coolest bottle shape ever. This guava color will look incredible on Instagram. Try not to get into a “like” competition with your mom, though. She probably has more followers than you.

5. The Special Occasion: Whispering Angel

Whispering Angel is perfect for graduations, holidays, summer parties, etc. It’s a little more pricey, but the taste alone is worth it. You and your mom will be in wine heaven.

6. The Firework: Gruet Brut Rosé

It’s summer and you and your mom just want to pop some bottles. Sparkling rosé? Pass the Gruet Brut Rosé, please. Keep drinking wine, because it’s actually good for you.

7. The Whatever: Alloy Wine Works Grenache Rosé

Not feeling a bottle? Want to casually drink two-thirds of a bottle of wine out of a can with your mom? Alloy Wine Works makes rosé in a can. You’re welcome.

Now that I’ve made you all junior sommeliers, go forth into the summer sun and get classy with your favorite drinking buddy.
