Crust is essential to judging the taste of a quality pie, so I’m here with a definitive ranking of the best types of pizza crusts to help you out. I can personally say I have tried every type of pizza crust out there (even straight from Italy).

Here’s my definitive ranking of the best types of pizza crust. This list goes out to pizza lovers everywhere.

9. Fast Food Pizza (i.e. Domino’s quality)

Fast food style pizza is a staple item at sleepovers and parties. Domino’s has a garlic and parmesan-coated crust that adds to any night out. Their crust is bready, but it hits the spot. Plus, they have cinnastix and garlic knots if people are looking to branch out. Ordering Domino’s is always the move, and the fact that they deliver is an added bonus for college students. 

8. Cheese-Stuffed Crust 

Cheese on cheese on cheese is the perfect way to describe this type of crust. If a four-cheese pizza isn’t enough for you, why not stuff some more of it into the crust? The gooey richness fulfills every cheese lover’s dream. So if your heaven is a cheese shop, we have the perfect type of crust for you and it’s the cheesiest around!

7. Pizza Bagels

3. Chicago Deep Dish

Deep Dish puts the pie in pizza pie. There’s no doubt about it — Chicago is home to the richest, most decadent pizza around. It takes a good 45 minutes to make and makes for a heavy take-out box (if there are any leftovers). Deep dish style crust has an enormous amount of gooey cheese, pizza sauce, and endless toppings hidden in between those rich layers.

You can find the best type of pizza crust in the Big NYC, aka America’s pizza capital. New York City is packed with mom and pop places that sell pizza-by-the-slice. The crust is of medium thickness, and it’s always cooked to perfection. There’s not too much left after you’ve eaten the sauce part of the slice but just enough to enjoy those last few bites. 

Skip the reservations and head into a small pizzeria to pick up the not-so-hidden gem of NYC: the pizza. A classic order is a slice of pep, and I like to add on some parmesan and chili flakes from the shakes on the table. You haven’t experienced pizza until you have tried a warm slice of pie, served on a  paper plate, in a cozy little restaurant in the Big Apple. 

So there you have it: of all the best types of pizza crust out there, NYC ranks highest on quality dough. I can’t say I’m surprised, but I’m definitely craving a slice rn.
