How to Turn Overcooked Brownies Into an Easy Dessert

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Denison chapter.

Everybody has those “Oh s**t” moments where they completely forget that they have brownies in the oven once they realize the brownies are no longer the ooey-gooey chocolate piece of heaven they hoped they’d be. Instead, you’re left with a hard, brownie-brick.

I’ve experienced this one too many times, and instead of throwing away the disaster I created in the oven, I came up with this super simple brownie crust magic bar that is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.

Instructions

  1. Elizabeth Budd

Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for glass baking dish).

  2. Elizabeth Budd

Combine the overcooked brownie and the melted butter in a food processor to create a fine crumb.

  3. Elizabeth Budd

Once this is completed, press the brownie mixture into the bottom of a baking dish.

  4. Elizabeth Budd

Pour the entire 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk over top, making sure it is covering as much of the brownie mixture as possible.

  5. Elizabeth Budd

Next, take the remainder of the ingredients and layer them on top of the sweetened condensed milk.

  6. Elizabeth Budd

Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown. Once they are cooled, cut it into pieces and enjoy!
