Among other breaking worldwide news, France has just released arguably one of the most important inventions known to man: a Keurig for wine. We already have many things to thank France for such as the macaron, the crêpe, and of course, champagne. But this time France has done something bigger, and better.
France has now single-handedly revitalized the wine game. Imagine this: instead of having to drive all the way to the liquor store for a bottle of wine, you can just walk your lazy self over to the kitchen and you won’t have to pause that Grey’s Anatomy marathon. This is what dreams are made of, right?
How does it work?
The D-Vine is your own personal, countertop vineyard. It works very similarly to your typical Keurig or Nespresso machine. You purchase the wine in separately sold cartridges, and these cartridges aren’t like your bland, boring k-cup cartridges, they’re shaped like elegant little rods because this is wine and this is #sophistication.
After you pop the wine pods into the D-Vine machine, then it begins to essentially “brew” the wine and within minutes you have a beautiful glass of wine. But this isn’t just any glass of wine, its a glass of wine articulated to the perfect temperature (depending on the type of grape used to make the wine). Thank you, science.
So, what’s the catch?
This seems too good to be true, and maybe it is. Currently, the D-Vine costs currently $1,257, not including the wine pods which will cost anywhere between $6 and $40. You can buy approximately 132 bottles of your sh*tty wine for the price of the D-Vine, not counting the actual wine pods.
Though the D-Vine is awfully costly, it doesn’t stop us from putting it on our Christmas lists. (Hey, I’ve been good this year!)
Disclaimer: The Keurig Company has no affiliation with the D-Vine, they are just similar products.
