How to Make Caramel Sauce Without Burning Down the Kitchen

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at American chapter.

I prefer homemade caramel sauce over storebought, but caramel sauce can be tough to make. I’ve nearly burned down my kitchen an embarrassing amount of times attempting to make my favorite brownie topping from scratch. Thankfully, I have an easy caramel recipe that takes the stress out of baking.

Easy Caramel Sauce

Difficulty:BeginnerCook time: 10 minutesTotal time: 10 minutesServings:10 servings

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Faith Branch

Unwrap the candies and put them into a saucepan over low heat.

  2. Faith Branch

Once the candies begin to melt, steadily add in the cream.

#Spoontip: More cream will equal a thinner sauce so the amount is up to you.

  3. Faith Branch

Whisk the sauce to combine the caramels with the cream.

  4. Faith Branch

Once the sauce is to your desired liquidity and thickness, remove from heat.

  5. Faith Branch

    Add salt and serve.

Good caramel sauce doesn’t have to be hard to make. You can have this one in just ten minutes. This caramel sauce tastes great over ice cream or all of those apples you’ve picked this fall.
