Easy Caramel-Covered Brownies That Literally Anyone Could Make

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at American chapter.

Baking brownies can be kind of intimidating because it’s one of those “mess up one thing and it’s all over” activities, which is why generally I avoid all forms of baking—I’m the type of person who makes a cake fall.

But, I love desserts and having a brownie every now and then. Sadly, I can’t run to a bakery every time I want them. Whenever I want brownies but don’t want a lot of work, I can make these. Seriously, they are so easy, even I could make them without burning down the kitchen—and they taste pretty great too. Check out the recipe for these simple treats below.

Preheat the oven to 325°F and line a pan with parchment paper or grease it.

#Spoontip: Use parchment paper because nothing sticks to it and it has fewer calories than butter.

Melt the butter in a microwave safe bowl.

Combine the butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt in a bowl. I used my hand mixer but a spatula would work just as well.

Add in the cocoa powder and flour.

Pour the batter into the lined/greased pan. Bake for 1 hour.

Pour caramel sauce (as much or as little as you want) over the brownies before serving.
