Edible Red Velvet Cookie Dough You Can Make When No One Else is Home

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Fairfield chapter.

Edible cookie dough is all the latest craze. There’s tons of flavors like your traditional chocolate chip, and sugar cookie to cake batter, and  S’mores. There’s just something about eating cookie dough from the bowl that brings you back to your childhood. But traditional cookie dough is so basic, why not spice it up by making edible red velvet cookie dough?

Red Velvet is bomb. Red velvet cupcakes, cookies, oreos- whatever dessert you can think of, people can’t seem to get enough of the red color.

I adapted Willow Bird Baking’s Cake Batter Cookie Dough. This recipe is super easy and will satisfy your cookie dough craving in less than 10 minutes. And the best part? It uses a cake mix.

And when you’re done, you can eat it straight from the bowl without worrying about contracting salmonella.

Top with white chocolate chips or leave it plain—totally up to you. Serve with Oreos, pretzels, or graham crackers.

You can eat it straight from the bowl (preferred method) or bake up a batch of warm cookies. Yum.
