As a foodie who loves to exercise, I am always on the lookout for recipes that are both healthy and tasty. I have a particular liking for oatmeal, especially because of how versatile it is. I've spent the past few months trying countless recipes to see which flavor combinations paired well together and ascertaining the perfect ratio of ingredients to liquids. After all this, I've finally created the perfect breakfast oatmeal recipe: my delicious High Protein Triple Chocolate Cinnamon Oats. This is my go-to breakfast that I eat almost every single day and never get tired of! It's packed with around 29 grams of protein, spiced with cinnamon and ginger, and super duper chocolatey!

High Protein Triple Chocolate Cinnamon Oats

  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tbsp 100% unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp instant coffee granules OR espresso powder
  • chopped dried apricots
  • creamy peanut butter
  • OPTIONAL: 1 tsp banana powder
  • OPTIONAL: 1 tsp sour cherry powder

  • Step 1

    Pour all ingredients (except for the protein powder, creamy peanut butter, and chopped dried apricots) in a saucepan on medium heat. Make sure to stir well.

  • Step 2

    Continue to stir the oatmeal mixture on stove until it starts to thicken. As soon as it is thick and creamy, but no longer watery, take the oatmeal mixture off the stove and pour into a medium-sized bowl. Let sit for 3 minutes.

  • Step 3

    Mix the protein powder with the oats until fully incorporated. Decorate with creamy peanut butter and chopped dried apricots in whichever way you choose.
