How to Make Copycat Double Tree Cookies

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 eggs at room temperature
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350° and gather your ingredients.

Step 2

Pulse oats in food processor or blender until they are a fine consistency. Set aside.

Step 3

Cream butter, sugar, vanilla and lemon juice until smooth, using an electric mixer.

Step 4

Add eggs and blend until incorporated.

Step 5

Stir in flour, baking soda, cinnamon and oats until well blended.

Step 6

Add in chocolate chips and walnuts until just combined.

Step 7

Spoon 1/4 cup dough balls onto an ungreased cookie sheet, at least 2 inches apart, and bake for 16-18 minutes or until the cookies are light brown and soft in the middle.

#SpoonTip: If dough is sticky or looks runny, chill dough for 30 minutes to an hour before this step.
