Let’s put the “shake” back in milkshake with this Shamrock Shake inspired raspberry peppermint milkshake.

Shamrock shakes are my favorite part of March, and as an ode to this awesome month, I created my own version of the iconic McDonald’s shake.

Dorm life means that I do not have any of the standard kitchen appliances sans fridge and microwave, so I decided to shake it up and go old school with a mason jar. This recipe is great with its simplicity; essentially you can throw all your ingredients into one jar and then shake it up. Or you can go fancy and swirl your raspberry puree into your already “shaken” milkshake to achieve visible layers and achieve star foodie status.

If you don’t like raspberry, you can always substitute strawberry, mango, or if you want to go exotic, try grapefruit. If McDonald’s can create new Shamrock Shake flavors, so can you. The more creative the better! If you find one that works even better than the raspberry, snap a picture of it, and tag @Spoon_lu_ on Insta!
