As soon as the sun comes out, my family fires up the grill. But deciding what to make can be a challenge in the warmer months, especially if you have a big family like I do. The cost of burgers and steaks adds up quickly, so we often find ourselves making grilled pizza. Grilled pizza not only allows for everyone to choose their own toppings (which is key to minimizing bickering between siblings), but it's also deliciously crispy and can easily be made for a crowd.

Making a grilled pizza may seem like a monumental task when you're starting out, but it becomes much easier once you know a few simple tips and tricks. Although it's completely possible to make a grilled pizza by yourself, setting up stations where everyone has one task can make it much easier when you're making pizzas for a big group. As long as you keep the grill hot, place the pizza olive oil side down to begin with, and are speedy when applying your toppings, you'll end up with the pizza of your dreams.

Once you've had grilled pizza, all other kinds pale in comparison. Hopefully these grilled pizza recipes inspire you to make your own cheesy masterpiece and eventually come up with topping combinations of your own.

1. Grilled White Truffle Oil Pizza

3. 3 Mushroom and Garlic Grilled Pizza

Mushrooms are by far one of my mom's favourite things to put on her pizza. Now that the weather is getting warmer I practiced making this three mushroom and garlic grilled pizza to know if it would be good for Mother's Day. It definitely is.

9. Spicy Italian Sausage Grilled Pizza

Sausage is one of my absolute favourite pizza toppings, especially if it's a sausage with a little more heat to it. I personally prefer chorizo, but pretty much any spicy sausage will make this spicy Italian sausage grilled pizza legendary.

The whole point of a grilled pizza is that you use toppings you enjoy. As long as you know how to properly use the grill to make the pizza, feel free to customize to your heart's content.

Whether you're out using the grill for Father's Day or are just enjoying the summer heat, the customizability and potential topping combinations that grilled pizza recipes brings makes it a must-have at any summer barbecue. With smaller pizzas, everyone can choose their own toppings, so no more fighting over what to have for dinner.
