Yeah, yeah, anyone can throw some burgers on the grill and call it a good Father’s Day, but how creative is that? We happen to know of a different, better thing to grill than ground beef and chicken wings. It’s often unknown that pizza (your never-fail crowd pleaser) can be grilled. It’s also often unknown that grilled pizza is just as mouth-watering, if not more so, than your typical baked pizza.

Grilled Pizza

  • Cook Time:5 minutes
  • Total Time:15 minutes

  • Medium


  • pizza dough (store bought or make your own)
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1-2 cup cheese(s) of choice
  • your choice of toppings
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Step 1

    Fire up the grill.

  • Step 2

    Set up your ingredients. This is your time to shine. Don’t be afraid to get creative. Grilling pizza is all about organization. You gotta have everything set up before you’re ready to grill (unless you like your pizza black).

  • Step 3

    Form your dough into a circle-like shape. Roll, stretch, toss (if you’re ever so brave). Brush with olive oil. If you’re into making your own dough, check this out.

  • Step 4

    Lay dough on the grill oil-side-down, then brush the other side with olive oil.

  • Step 5

    Let the dough cook with the lid on for 1 to 2 minutes or to desired crispy-ness.

  • Step 6

    Flip your naked pizza and top with sauce, cheese, and toppings ASAP.

    Cook again for a couple minutes with the lid on, checking every so often.

    Take the pizza off the grill and let cool for about 3 minutes (or don’t, if you’re in to the mouth-burn thing).
