Jet-Puffed is adding a color-changing effect to its marshmallows for this new limited-edition line of treats. That’s right. When met with heat, these marshmallows will change colors from either pink to orange or blue to green. It only takes 10 seconds.
Festive colors are becoming more popular in the food and drink industry, so Jet-Puffed knew it had to add in its own products to the mix. “As a brand who is here to puff up any moment, we are always looking for new and exciting ways to bring our fluffy puff marshmallows to fans,” Megan Sommerdyke of the Jet-Puffed team told Food&Wine.
It’s unclear how this *advanced* technology works, but we do know the marshmallows will change color if you microwave or blow dry them — basically any source of heat will make the colors shift.
Where can I buy color-changing marshmallows?
It is not yet known whether these color-changing marshmallows will taste any different compared to their original marshmallows, but the fun of seeing the bright colors is worth a try. The product will sell for $2.99 in supermarkets all across the U.S. starting April 25th and available until September, when the sadness of the end of summer brings us back to school.
