The Chipotle No Spill Burrito Challenge Just Won’t Die

There’s a solid chance that somewhere between the doomscrolling and going to Chipotle for the third time this week, you’ve come across a video of someone holding up a fat burrito to the camera. No wrapper, no foil, just pushing through on vibes and a prayer that nothing falls out mid bite. That right there is the no spill Chipotle burrito challenge, one that absolutely refuses to quit.

The actual rules, sort of

To put it simply, you gotta eat an entire loaded Chipotle burrito without spilling anything. Not a bean, no drops of salsa, not even a single grain of rice. Sounds simple enough right? Well, if you’ve ever actually held a full Chipotle burrito, then you know this is like asking someone to defuse a bomb with chopsticks.

It’s not like there’s an official rulebook or anything, it’s TikTok. But the internet has managed to land on a general consensus. The foil has to be completely off, that way nothing gets caught. Everything has to be shown on camera with no cuts. The burrito has to make it from first bite to last without so much of a tiny drip of sour cream spill out. Bonus points if you show your work and let the camera see the foil to prove nothing secretly fell out.

Meet the regulars

What’s been making this trend fun to follow is that creators keep coming back to fail over and over. Conner Genal has posted multiple attempts with the most recent one being his 4th one. Unfortunately, he dropped a grain of rice right at the end. Even more suspenseful is creator @joelmukbang out here struggling on day six of his personal saga, having a single bean as his mortal enemy.

For most, this has become a bit of a storyline rather than a one and done trend. Hilariously enough, the burrito is winning more often than not.

The comment section remains undefeated

If you’re not reading the comments on these videos for some reason, you’re missing half of the experience. People are locked in hoping to see success and then collectively losing it every time a single drop hits the table, causing the comments to flood with stickers of heartbreak. One person admitted to accidentally jinxing Joel by getting excited a little too early, just for a bean to fall right after, making them feel the need to apologize.

Proof it’s actually beatable

Not everyone falls victim to the cycle of failure. Popular creator Wolfie posted a perfectly clean run a bit ago that’s still racking up likes, he even flipped his foil to the camera at the end as his receipt. This video reminds people that the challenge is technically possible, making every other failed attempt that much more entertaining.

The burrito keeps winning

Most food trends pop in and out of the spotlight pretty quickly. The no spill challenge has been going strong for quite some time now though because of it’s recurring challengers and a comment section that treats each attempt like a new episode. Honestly, you might think you could pull off the cleanest run to date. But the real fun is watching everyone else find out the hard way that you probably can’t.
