If you happen to own a soccer jersey, pull it out immediately! This Thursday, June 11, Chipotle is having its first-ever Matchday BOGO. Yes, you heard right. Wear any soccer jersey to a participating location after 3 p.m. local time and leave with a buy-one-get-one free entrée. This promotion is available at locations across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., with the freedom to wear any jersey you want. Your country, your favorite club, or something you picked up thrifting all count.
Here’s how to score the deal.
To reap the rewards of this BOGO, all you have to do is show up in a soccer jersey after 3 p.m. on June 11 and you’ll get a second entrée for free with the purchase of an order at equal or greater value. The free entrée only goes to the person wearing the jersey, and the deal is limited to five free items per check. Your jersey has to be shown off in the restaurant to capitalize on this deal, so app and delivery won’t cut it.
Chipotle Rewards members scanning at the register also get to unlock an exclusive digital badge through the updated “Rewards on Repeat” program, designed to make free rewards easier to earn and redeem more often. So if you’re not already a member, now is the time to sign up.
The jersey you didn’t see coming.
On top of BOGO, Chipotle is releasing its first-ever limited-edition soccer jersey with some pretty delicious details. Across the front you get “Real Chipotle”, nodding to famous clubs like Real Madrid, a term with serious weight in the sport. Flip it around and you’ll find the number 53 on the back, representing every ingredient in Chipotle’s own lineup.
Between June 10 and June 24, Chipotle Rewards members can put in 10 points for each entry. Only 53 jerseys exist and each entry increases your shot at scoring one. Not a Rewards member yet? Sign up at chipotle.com/rewards to get free chips and guac with your first qualifying order.
Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing at Chipotle, Stephanie Perdue said, “Every four years, this tournament creates an unmatched sense of excitement, pride, and community among fans around the world. We wanted to celebrate the rituals that make the experience so memorable, from wearing lucky jerseys to gathering for matchday meals with Chipotle.”
Believe it or not, this actually isn’t Chipotle’s first jersey event either. The Hockey Jersey BOGO earlier this year set a record high as the biggest promotion the chain has ever done. Meaning expectations leading into this one should already be high.
Chipotle has actually been in the soccer game for a while.
For over a decade, Chipotle has been putting money into the sport, with more than $3.5 million donated to local organizations and 14,000-plus fundraisers supported since 2015. Just last year, that came out to $225,000 spread across almost 1,500 community programs.
Whether you’re repping your country, favorite club, or simply want an excuse for free food, June 11 just might be the day for you to flaunt that jersey and head to Chipotle.
