The show tells the story of two detective’s quest to solve a series of rapes following the sexual assault of a teenage girl. Unbelievable features heavy topics that might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Critics called Unbelievable “heartbreaking”, “powerful”, and “brilliant”. Just like chocolate ice cream, Unbelievable is some heavy stuff, but could be perfect for fans of Chocolate.
Strawberry: Parks and Rec

Ahh yes, the third member of the big three: Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry. Strawberry ice cream has a light flavor, bringing reprieve to some of the richer flavors on the list. Strawberry is to ice cream as Parks and Rec is to Netflix. Parks and Rec is a comedy centered around Leslie Knope, a plucky bureaucrat trying to make a difference in her small town of Pawnee, Indiana. Parks and Rec is filled with feel-good, cheesy jokes that are sure to make you smile. It’s a refreshing take on the world of politics that is needed in times like these.
Cookies and Cream: The Office
There’s a reason Cookies and Cream is one of the most popular ice cream flavors. It has a simple cream base and is loaded with chunks of chocolate sandwich cookies that add just the right about of crunch. If you dream of Oreos in your ice cream, settle down with The Office. The Office is probably the most well-known comedy on any streaming platform. On the surface, a show based on a paper company in Scranton, PA seems bland, but once you start watching you know that can’t be farther from the truth. The Office is filled with characters that complement each other perfectly, kind of like the combination of a chocolate cookie and cream. Cookies and Cream fans will love The Office.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough has many elements: light and airy vanilla ice cream blended with chunks of sweet cookie dough and rich flakes of chocolate. If you’re a fan of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, watch Little Fires Everywhere. This is a limited series based on the best-selling novel by Celeste Ng. With an all-star cast including Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon, you’ll be hooked from the start. Little Fires Everywhere tells the story of two starkly different families in the small town of Shaker Ohio in the late 90’s. Similar to Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream, Little Fires Everywhere has many elements that make it versatile balancing humor, darkness, and mystery.
Peanut Butter Cup: The Haunting of Hill House
Peanut Butter Cup is the combination of two incredibly rich flavors: chocolate and peanut butter. This flavor can be quite heavy and is not for everyone. If you’re a Peanut Butter lover consider watching The Haunting of Hill House. This Netflix Original mini-series follows a family’s connection to their childhood home and the dark secrets they cannot escape, even in their adult lives. The show features flashbacks to the character’s childhoods and events happening in the present. The two create a dark and at times disturbing chain of events that any chocolate peanut butter fan will eat up (literally).
Mint Chocolate Chip: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream is a refreshing treat, not only because it’s cold, but because of the minty taste. The cool taste of mint is balanced with the richer taste and crunchy texture of chocolate chips. For a refreshing take on life, tune into Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. This show follow Kimmy, a woman in her 30s re-entering the real world of NYC after living in a cult for 15 years. With a dark back story, Kimmy’s take on life is refreshing and hilarious, making it the perfect feel-good show for any Mint Chocolate Chip fan.
Butter Pecan: Gilmore Girls
Butter Pecan might be the most traditional ice cream flavor out there. It’s an old favorite that hits the spot, when you’re craving the sweet, decadent taste of Butter Pecan. If you’re favorite ice cream is Butter Pecan, start streaming Gilmore Girls. Gilmore Girls portrays the life of a mother, daughter duo who are, at times, more like best friends. Gilmore Girls will fill of nostalgia, as you see Lorelai and Rory make their way through the early 2000s. Gilmore Girls is a light-hearted, feel good series. It’s a comforting, must-watch series, for the Butter Pecan lovers out there.
Rocky Road: Greys Anatomy
Rocky Road is a classic ice cream with a chocolate base mixed with nuts, chocolate and marshmallows. Rocky Road is both creamy and crunchy with every bite adding different flavors. If you’re a Rocky Road fan, I recommend binging all 15 seasons of Grey’s Anatomy. Through the seasons, the plot of Grey’s Anatomy is quite literally a rocky road. Grey’s Anatomy follows the lives of interns in training at an elite hospital in Seattle. Although Grey’s Anatomy is a medical drama, it tackles tragedy, love, sex, controversial topics and much more. You might experience a roller coaster of emotions while watching, but if you like Rocky Road that seems to be your thing.
