Earlier this year, Oreo asked fans what flavor they should make next with their #MyOreoCreation contest. Personally, I'm all about the classic Double Stuf Oreos, but if I had to choose another flavor, I'd be all in for trying a tiramisu or a spicy chocolate cookie. But apparently people got wild with their suggestions, because the three new flavors coming to stores are weird af.

The Crazy New Flavors

According to a Facebook post by Oreo, the final flavors chosen in the contest to come to stores are Piña Colada, Cherry Cola, and Kettle Korn. Arguably, all of these are pretty out there, but the Piña Colada flavors scares me most. The tropical drink is already delicious on its own! I feel like putting any fruity-flavors like that in cookie form (beyond lemon) is a no-go.

The contest took place on social media, where fans submitted their suggestions via #MyOreoCreation. These three will be the only suggestions coming to stores, and fans will be asked to try them, and vote for their favorite. My money is on Kettle Corn.

But There Were Crazier Flavors Suggested

To be fair, these weren't even the craziest flavors suggested. Fans suggested flavors like Honey Parmesan, Strawberry Cucumber, Cheeseburger, and Salt and Lime. Like, wtf?

But other suggestions, I will admit, sounded delicious and I'm wondering why they weren't chosen. Why not try flavors suggested like Cannoli, Peanut Butter Pretzel, Oatmeal, and Chili Mocha? There's no confirmation yet on how Oreo chose these new flavors, but they're seemingly ones that will stir up attention and aren't meant to be permanent additions to the brand.

Oreo says they're notifying the finalists, and we can expect to try the new flavors in May 2018—a whole six months away. Until then, I'll continue snacking on my classic Oreos, and trying whatever other nonsense flavors come out before then.
