As each week of the semester goes by, choosing which ice cream brand to purchase becomes increasingly difficult. One can only eat a pint of Halo Top so many times, and eventually, the allure of Ben and Jerry’s wears off. That’s wear Serendipity ice cream steps in, introducing your taste buds to new flavors and new ways to consume the chilly treat.

Serendipity ice cream was born out of a partnership with the iconic New York City restaurant, Serendipity 3. Pints hit stores in February 2019 and immediately made a name for themselves in retailers like 7-Eleven, CVS and ShopRite. Serendipity also rolled out ice cream cakes in September 2019, adding to the brand’s array of goodies.

Serendipity's new products are worth paying attention to. They're sure to be crowd pleasers, and better yet, they act as the perfect base for toppings like chocolate chips, whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles.

New ice cream flavors

Zoe Malin

Serendipity ice cream was originally sold in eight flavors, ranging from Outrageous Banana Split to Cafe Espresso Chip. It’s three new varieties are equally mouth-watering. Of course, you can share a pint with friends. But, there’s no shame in grabbing a spoon and eating straight out of the carton.

Dulce de Leche

Zoe Malin

Double the caramel equals double the deliciousness, right? Serendipity’s Dulce de Leche ice cream answers that question with a resounding “yes.” It has a caramel base and a golden-brown caramel swirl running through it. I recommend topping a heaping scoop with homemade whipped cream or Reddi Wip Non-Dairy Coconut Milk Whipped Cream.

Salty Caramel Pretzel

Zoe Malin

Sweet and salty are a match made in heaven, which is why this flavor is a hit. The ice cream consists of a vanilla base, a salty caramel swirl, and has chocolate-covered pretzel bits evenly distributed throughout. Scoop this flavor into a chocolate cone to amplify the chocolate-covered pretzel bits, or add a drizzle of hot fudge.

Very Cherry Chunk

A fruity alternative to more confectionary flavors, Serendipity’s Very Cherry Chunk option is light and refreshing. The base is vanilla, and there are chunks of cherries and chocolate mixed in. Not to mention, its beautiful pink hue draws in ice cream lovers from miles away.

Say hello to ice cream cakes!

Zoe Malin

A welcome alternative to Carvel’s Fudgie the Whale cake, Serendipity’s ice cream cakes come in two varieties: Birthday Cake and Frrrozen Hot Chocolate. Each are covered in frosting, and their decorations scream “celebration.” While cutting the cakes is quite messy, and you need to let them thaw for a few minutes before they’re sliced, one bite will make you fall in love.

Birthday Ice Cream Cake

Upon opening the box of Serendipity’s Birthday Ice Cream Cake, you’ll notice only one thing missing: the candle! Whether you’re commemorating the end of exam season or another year around this sun, this perfectly crafted treat does just the trick. It features cake flavored ice cream, pink frosting, cake pieces and sprinkles. Overall, the cake feeds about 16 people.

Frrrozen Hot Chocolate Ice Cream Cake

Layers of hot chocolate flavored ice cream, whipped cream swirls and chocolate shavings is not your typical cake. However, it’s a combination you’ll crave after you have a slice of Serendipity’s latest concoction. The cake is eye-catching in its box and on your plate, meaning those who see it won’t be able to keep their hands off of it.
