A chicken Caesar salad is arguably one of the best salads. Add a side of crispy french fries and a Coke, and I’m sold. The salad can also be revamped into just about anything including a sandwich, wrap, and pizza. I once went to a pizzeria that had a chicken Caesar salad pie, it was a white pizza with the salad placed on top after the pie was cooked to perfection. The chicken Caesar salad pizza has been circulating on TikTok for a couple of weeks but it’s not your traditional pie. The crust is breaded chicken. Here’s how to make it.
What is the TikTok chicken Caesar salad pizza?
Well, for starters, the base of the pizza is chicken. Yep, a chicken crust. The crust is then topped with a Caesar salad.
From the multiple videos that have come across my TikTok FYP, many creators have used canned chicken. Canned chicken is off-putting to me, therefore, I suggest opting for ground chicken or actual chicken breast (@lifewithbroooke boiled her chicken breast). Either way, the chicken will be mixed with eggs, grated parmesan cheese, and bread crumbs to create a patty. The seasonings vary here with some creators like @actuallyashly using garlic powder, pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes. To make the patty, the chicken mixture is molded into a thin circle on a sheet pan which is then put into the oven. Bake at 375°F for 30 to 35 minutes.
While your chicken crust is in the oven, make your salad. Your salad will include romaine lettuce, parmesan cheese, and, of course, the dressing. For the dressing, you can use store-bought or make your own. @mamacookslowcarb makes her dressing using the following recipe. In a bowl mix together 1/2 cup of mayo (or plain Greek yogurt), 1/4 cup of sour cream, 1 1/2 teaspoons of anchovy paste (optional), 4 cloves garlic (mince), 1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil, the zest of half a lemon (optional), 2 1/2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1 1/2 teaspoons of Dijon mustard, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon of cracked black pepper, 1/4 cup of shredded parmesan cheese, and salt to taste.
Once your chicken crust is done, let it cool for a couple of minutes to prevent the lettuce from wilting when placed on top. Spread a portion of the dressing on top of the crust, the rest of the dressing is to be mixed with the romaine. The amount of dressing for each is up to you, add as much or as little as you’d like. Top the pizza with grated parmesan cheese and black pepper. @mamacookslowcarb also notes that balsamic glaze would work well as a topping.
This is true pizza innovation and as one user commented, “This with a Diet Coke is the ultimate girl dinner.”
