Celebrate National Potato Chip Day With Cape Cod Potato Chips

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Hofstra chapter.

You’ve probably heard of National Cookie Day or World Nutella Day, but did you know there is one for potato chips? On March 14, get ready to celebrate National Potato Chip Day.

Potato chips are beloved by many for their salty taste and crispy texture. Not only are potato chips a great snack, but they pair well with burgers, sandwiches, dipping sauces and even ice cream

Cape Cod Potato Chip Flavors

Cape Cod Potato Chips are known for their crunch and distinctive folds that make them stand out from the rest. Cape Cod Potato Chips come in a variety of cuts and flavors including Original, Sea Salt & Vinegar, Sweet & Spicy Jalapeno, Waves White Cheddar & Sour Cream and more.

For the sake of this article, I am going to highlight the flavors that I’ve tried and those that you may want to consider when celebrating National Potato Chip Day.

1. Waves White Cheddar And Sour Cream

There is something so special about white cheddar snacks that I can never seen to get enough. These Cape Cod Potato Chips are made using white cheddar and a hint of sour cream. I almost ate the whole bag of these in one sitting they were that delicious. The waves add an extra dimension to the chip  making them even crispier and crunchier. While I was eating this, I was thinking about how great these would taste on top of a burger or a sandwich.

2. Waves Honey BBQ

I think I have a slight bias for the waves, but I mean its for a good reason. The next flavor I suggest trying is honey bbq. These chips had the same consistency as previously mentioned, but the flavor is softer. Compared to the Sweet Mesquite BBQ, which I also tried, the flavor was sweeter, but still had that signature barbecue tang.

3. Dark Russet

I was immediately drawn to this flavor because of the red color from the bag. These chips are made from russet potatoes and have a slightly sweet and buttery taste. This flavor reminded me of potato chips you would get at a fancy restaurant with their signature sandwich.

4. Sour Cream And Onion

You’ve probably tried sour cream and onion chips before and these are exactly that. I think these stand out because of their smooth texture and satisfying crunch. If you are looking for something similar to a plain potato chip, this is just a step up. I could only eat a few of these because the zesty taste makes my tongue numb after a while, but I thoroughly enjoyed these.

5. Original

Since we’re celebrating National Potato Chip Day, you can’t forget about the original potato chip. These consist of hand selected potatoes, pure vegetable oil and salt. If you are looking for something simple and classic, try these.
