It may barely be August, but I can already smell the wafts of pumpkin spice coming from the coffee chains and doughnut shops. Yes, fall is fast approaching, and with it, an (cozily-welcomed) onslaught of fall drinks and food from your favorite cafes and coffee shops. But it’s hard to keep up with what places have pumpkin spice lattes already on the menu and which places are still firmly in summer territory. Well, we have you covered. Consider this your official pumpkin spice watch list for every chain out there. Curious about when Starbucks will release its PSL? Read on. Craving a pumpkin doughnut? We’ve got that, too. As the leaves change, we will keep this list updated with all the pumpkin spice products you need to try. So save your future self some trouble and bookmark this page.
Starbucks
The coffee chain, arguably credited with creating and popularizing the Pumpkin Spice Latte, dropped its fall menu on August 24. The classic PSL is back, as are the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, and the Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato, plus two brand new drinks: an Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai Latte and the Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. In addition to the new Baked Apple Croissant, fan-favorite fall bakery items are back as well, including the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin and the Owl Cake Pop.
Dunkin’
Pumpkin Spice Season started earlier than ever at Dunkin’. According to the food blogger, Dunkin’ will bring back the beloved PSL and Nutty Pumpkin Coffee — as well as seasonal donuts and Munchkins — beginning August 16. America runs on Pumpkin.
Jamba
Whether you’re still hanging onto summer or craving an early taste of fall, Jamba is giving fans the best of both worlds. Jamba is introducing the new Pumpkin Smash Bowl, in addition to the return of fan-favorite Pumpkin Smash Smoothie, for a unique way to enjoy pumpkin and savor fall flavors. Fans can sip and scoop Jamba’s signature pumpkin spice blend featuring cinnamon and nutmeg with 2% milk and frozen yogurt. Plus, it’s easily made vegan by swapping out the milk and frozen yogurt for oat milk and So Delicious Dairy Free oat milk frozen dessert!
Carvel
Beginning August 28, Carvel will introduce its new Pumpkin Cheesecake lineup, which combines Carvel’s Original Soft Serve and pumpkin flavor with the delectable taste of cheesecake for a new take on a seasonal favorite. The Pumpkin Cheesecake flavor will be available at participating Carvel shoppes in a variety of treats, including Pumpkin Cheesecake Soft Serve, Pumpkin Cheesecake Scooped (aka hard pumpkin ice cream with caramel, cheesecake bites and spiced cinnamon Crunchies), and a Pumpkin Cheesecake Flying Saucer featuring Pumpkin Cheesecake Soft Serve sandwiched between two chocolate wafers. You can also enjoy the Pumpkin Cheesecake Soft Serve in a Sundae Dasher, which layers Pumpkin Cheesecake Soft Serve, caramel, cheesecake bites and spiced cinnamon Crunchies, and topped with whipped cream and spiced cinnamon Crunchies.
Wendy’s
Rumor has it that our favorite fast-food redhead wants in on the fall fun. According to Devo, Wendy’s, the fast food chain, is preparing to launch a limited-time-only Pumpkin Spice Frosty this September. Even though it’s a burger chain, this isn’t a trick — just a pumpkin-flavored frozen treat.
7-11
As far as PSLs go, 7-11 takes the cake (pumpkin bread?) for the earliest release date, with pumpkin flavored coffees having hit shelves August 1. Because nothing says “heat of the summer” like a hot pumpkin pie coffee.
DQ
Dairy Queen’s Blizzard of the Month for September is the fan-favorite Pumpkin Pie Blizzard! Just in time for the first day of fall, DQ is serving up Blizzard treats made with their world-famous soft serve with real pumpkin pie pieces, garnished with whipped topping and nutmeg.
Krispy Kreme
You can now get your fill of pumpkin spice at Krispy Kreme. In the rotation this year is a Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Swirl Doughnut, a Pumpkin Spice Maple Pecan Doughnut, a Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed Doughnut, and a Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnut. And to wash all that down, you can of course get a pumpkin spice latte.
