Ashley Graham is a straight up legend. She has defied what it means to be a supermodel, completely recreating its definition. Prior to her arrival in the fashion world, supermodels were known for being so skinny—sometimes to an unhealthy level, and it was almost considered a necessity to eat literally nothing, or even consume toxic cigarettes to maintain one’s skinny figure. She is a poster-girl for body positivity and promoting healthiness and happiness at any size, both in and out of the fashion world. Ashley Graham’s diet reflects her admirable reputation; it’s healthy, balanced, and delicious.
Breakfast: Green Smoothie
For breakfast, Graham likes to blend up a green smoothie with kale, lemon, ginger, beets, apple and parsley. Although not very sweet, I enjoyed how rejuvenating it felt to consume such nutritious and pure ingredients after waking up in the morning.
Lunch: Quinoa, Veggies & Tahini
For lunch, Graham has a bowl of quinoa, veggies, drizzled with tahini. I really enjoyed this lunch because the quinoa kept me feeling energized throughout the rest of my day. Furthermore, it was a very balanced lunch as it had a complex carb, veggie, and protein.
Dinner: Salmon, Arugula Salad, & Sweet Potato
To end the day, Graham enjoys salmon, arugula salad, and sweet potato. Just like her usual lunch, this is a very balanced dinner filled with nutrients like the protein, omega 3 fatty acids, and B vitamins from the salmon, cancer-fighting properties and vitamin K from the arugula, and potassium, dietary fiber and various vitamins including vitamin A from the sweet potato. Her typical dinner left me feeling satisfied and healthy.
Guilty Pleasure: Mac & Cheese and Pizza
Graham knows the key to a healthy balanced diet is treating herself once in a while. That’s why she’ll have a slice of pizza or bowl of mac & cheese when she’s really craving it. Since I tend to crave sweeter treats as guilty pleasures, I treated myself to homemade matcha balls and dark chocolate peanut butter cookie dough bars (check them out on @claud_eats).
Though out my week, I felt energized and without the highs and lows I would usually have due to consuming more sugar. Ashley Graham’s diet is both balanced and nutritious, promoting a healthy and happy lifestyle.
