For the past couple of weeks, food chains like Dunkin’ have been announcing the return of pumpkin spice items. It’s official, summer is actually over (yes, I’m a little bitter). The plus side? Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte is back.
Starting August 24, the Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte will return for the 20th year. Yes, that’s right. This is the 20th (!!!) year the PSL has graced Starbucks’ menu. If there’s ever a year to get it, it’s this year. But that’s not all, Starbucks is also launching two new seasonal beverages perfect for the cozy, fall vibes you are craving. That’s two new beverages you can add to your “must try” list, aside from the return of some fan favorites.
What to expect from Starbucks’ fall menu
The first new beverage is the Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea Latte, which was inspired by a popular customer and barista customization. It’s a creamy chai tea latte with pumpkin cream cold foam and a dusting of pumpkin spice on top.
The other new beverage is the Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. This is the fall combination. Baristas combine the Starbucks Blonde Espresso with notes of apple, cinnamon, and brown sugar, shaken together and topped with oatmilk.
The Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew is back for its fifth year in a row. The Starbucks Cold Brew is sweetened with vanilla syrup, topped with pumpkin cream cold foam, and a dusting of pumpkin spice on top.
Returning for the third year is the Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato. The drink is layered with flavors of apple, cinnamon, and brown sugar combined with a spiced apple drizzle. It will be available hot, iced, and blended.
And of course, the Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte. It combines the Starbucks Signature Espresso and steamed milk with the flavor combination of real pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Topped with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spices, your fav PSL will be available hot, iced, or blended.
The fall-tivies don’t end there. For the first time, Starbucks Reserve locations in the U.S. will also offer pumpkin spice beverages, including the Starbucks Reserve Pumpkin Spice Latte and two other drinks.
The Pumpkin Spice Whiskey Barrel-Aged Iced Latte (the first drink on the lineup) is a combination of Starbucks Reserve espresso, Whiskey Barrel-Aged coffee, pumpkin spice sauce, and your choice of milk poured over ice. On top, Starbucks Reserve Whiskey Barrel-Aged whipped cream and a dash of pumpkin-pie spices.
The other is the Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini (the middle drink on the lineup), Starbucks’ signature Espresso Martini infused with pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Then topped with pumpkin spiced whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spices. Talk about the best pumpkin overload.
Aside from drinks, new artisanal Princi bakery items are joining the menu, including a Pumpkin Spice Cake (the first bakery item on the lineup) and Pumpkin Maritozzo (pictured last on the lineup). The Pumpkin Maritozzo is a sweet brioche filled with spiced pumpkin mascarpone cream, dusted with powdered sugar. The next pumpkin treat, the Pumpkin Spice Cake is topped with caramel sauce, toasted pumpkin seeds, and a Princi chocolate square.
