A Sunday Morning at Local Press + Brew

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at SMU chapter.

Local Press + Brew is a must visit location for the early-morning Dallas traveler, or the local trying to squeeze a few hours of work in on a weekend afternoon. Whether you want to sit outside, use their walk-up coffee bar, or enjoy the eclectic inside seating, there is something for everyone.

For the athletic, early-morning, energetic person:

Press: The OC, which includes: Beet, Carrot, Green Apple, Orange, Turmeric

Brew: Espresso

Toast: Cinnamon and Sugar

Jump start your day with this delicious combination of fruits and veggies that will be sure to wake anyone up with a healthy bang. Top off this breakfast with cinnamon and sugar toast and a steaming espresso.

For the person who is feeling under the weather:

Press: Winnetka Heights, which includes: Apple, Ginger, Kale, Lemon, Pineapple

Brew: Hot Tea

Toast: Seasonal Jam

You cannot go wrong with the Winnetka Heights pressed drink–my personal favorite juice. In what tastes like a healthier version of lemonade, you get your daily dose of green veggies and feel great while doing it! Grab a hot tea and toast with jam to finish off this meal, which is sure to make anyone feel great after a long week or while recovering from a cold.

For the picky eater:

Press: Nut Party, which includes: Coconut Water and Coconut Meat

Brew: Chai Latte

Toast: Cream Cheese and Rye

You just can’t go wrong with a classic pressed juice: a double coconut treat. Grab a warm chai latte and a slice of buttery rye toast with cream cheese to create an even more delectable meal.

For the adventurer:

PressKessler Park, which includes: Celery, Cucumber, Grapefruit, Kale, Parsley, Pear

Brew: Latte (try with organic almond milk)

Toast: Banana, Almond Butter, Honey

My personal favorite brewed item — the latte with almond milk will have you begging for more. Try to Kessler Park pressed juice if you are feeling extra fruity this morning. Top this meal off with a slice of toast with the classic arrangement of bananas, almond butter, and a drizzle of honey.

For the person who needs a Sunday morning remedy:

Press: The Day After, which includes: Alkaline Water, Lemon, Raw Sugar Cane Juice, Activated Charcoal

Brew: Drip

Toast: Avocado, Olive Oil, Red Chili Flakes

You can’t go wrong with The Day After Juice or a drip coffee. Both of these drinks will have you feeling ready to start your day, and to complete this jump-start meal, try the avocado toast. A must-have item on the menu, the red chili flakes take this meal over the top.

For the person looking to chill-out and have a slow morning:

Press: Bishop Arts, which includes: Coconut Water, Cucumber, Kale, Spinach, Parsley, Romaine

Brew: Matcha Latte

Toast: None! Enjoy one of the daily, fresh pastries available in the storefront.

If you are in the mood for a juice with a coconut water base, I highly suggest the Bishop Arts juice. Try a matcha latte for a kick in your daily routine, and grab one of the pastries that they bring in daily at their storefront!

Mix It Up!

Try a flight of juice! All you have to do is pick eight of their pressed juices, and voilà — you have yourself a row of juice samplers and can pick your favorite!

No matter how you are feeling, there is something for everyone at Local Press + Brew. A perfect start to the morning — this secluded location has easy parking, large study spaces, and great outdoor seating, making it a must-visit place either alone or with friends!
