September 14: National Cream-Filled Doughnut Day
I know what you’re thinking, there is really a food holiday strictly for cream-filled doughnuts? Why yes, yes there is. If you were looking for a great excuse to wake up early before class and swing by your local Dunkin’, Shipley’s or Krispy Kreme’, this is it. Snag a box of cream-filled doughnuts and bite into the gooey goodness.
September 15: National Double Cheeseburger Day
“Umm, I’ll take a double.”
With so many popular and delicious burger joints around Oxford, MS it’s hard to choose where we will celebrate this September food holiday. Between Oxford Burger Company, Handy Andy’s, Bim Bam Burgers, and Five Guys (just to name a few) you’re bound to find a great, juicy double cheeseburger to dive into.
September 20: National Rum Punch Day
Captain Jack Sparrow sure would love this National Food Holiday… yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!
Any bar on the Oxford Square will suffice when celebrating this National Food Holiday in September. Open up a tab and take a seat, because in order to celebrate this holiday, you have to do it the right way: the drunk way.
September 22: National Ice Cream Cone Day
When I think ice cream cones, I think of Sonic. With a yummy vanilla ice cream cone, Sonic is a great place to stop and celebrate this food holiday. Be sure to grab one of these sweet treats and enjoy!
September 28: National Drink-A-Beer Day
If you are looking for ANY reason to drink, here it is. National Drink-A-Beer Day, not to be confused with National Beer Day later in the year, is a wonderful and glorious American holiday that in all honesty, I celebrate almost every day. Be sure to grab some friends, kick back, relax and crack a cold one. Cheer y’all!
September 29: National Mocha Coffee Day
Every #basic girl in America will be celebrating this September food holiday to the fullest. Be prepared, every Starbucks line will be an hour long wait. I suggest grabbing a mocha coffee from a gas station or local coffee bar on your way to work and skip those crazy lines.
